My good mate Danny Wells appeared on a Channel 4 documentary on Sunday.

True to form and true to himself, Danny is one of the few guys in the dog training industry who tells it as he sees it.

In typical TV style, much of what was recorded was not aired. But there are precious few dog trainers prepared to take a call to train “a fear aggressive bully”, then crack on and do so throughout the week before rolling television cameras.

Sending your reactive dog (human or dog), out with a dog walker??? Do you know how much this can set any progress back?!! Dog walkers are not dog trainers, they do not understand dog body language and pick up on subtleties that is dog body language, I hear so often, "and from out of the blue", no reactive dog is going to attack out of the blue, all the warning signs will have been there, but dog walkers don't have the knowledge to read it! It is NEVER the dogs fault if it attacks, it is ours as owners, if you can't read your dog before it's going to go into attack then you need a trainer NOT a dog walker, and you need to stop forcing interactions that your dog is simply not ready for, put the work in with training, which yes it may take a year of consistency, but then you can simply enjoy the next 10-15 years with your dog, what is a year to give to their needs?

Amazing club training the other day with some amazing people and a tonne of brilliant work done!!

Had the pleasure of giving Elena her blue cap in the programme! She has worked so hard, and come so far and she's absolutely killing it.

Elena and Puddles are always active, always getting the work done, always moving forward and their attitude is second to none. They are so keen to improve themselves, and help others too with their journey!

These guys are a joy to have in the programme and no doubt we will see them at purple, brown and black! Let the journey continue!

This is the wonderful fun loving Arthur! Arthur has struggled with quite severe reactivity to dogs because people who have no control of their dogs have let them approach Arthur and he's just a dog who is absolutely NOT about this sort of interaction. As you can see here Arthur and owner worked beautifully and not a single boot off from him the whole session because we used his high play drive and food to show him that it wasn't his job to worry about Puddles nor to react to her presence. If you're training a reactive dog and it looks like you are then things need to change, training a reactive dog SHOULDN'T look like you're training a reactive dog, it should be fun and engaging for both owner and dog.

I LOVE this little dogs enthusiasm to work and train!! Walking backwards has been a long journey, like anything in dog training to get a beautifully solid behaviour, we've since started incorporating this in our obedience heel work & tactical heel too, she's loving it!

Saturday mornings I'm thinking for pet club, 10-12, see how we go, may go to 3 hours if we feel we need more time! Thoughts? The only Saturdays these wouldn't be on is if I'm heading up North to attend my trainers club.

I am contemplating setting up a weekly pet club for current customers to book onto and just putting the feelers out. This wouldn't be a structured type course, you book and come along with the things YOU want to work on and I help you with that journey to get the results you want, there would be no age restrictions, so if you have a puppy this would be something you can join on, and all age of adult dogs also would be welcome, a club is a community where we are all there to help and support others journeys, this would also be a great opportunity for socialisation, suitable for reactive dogs too, the only restriction is you must have had at least 1 1:1 first so we can get a kind of idea of what you want from your dog. What do people think?
