Crushed or grated nuts attract robins, dunnocks and even wrens. Nuthatches and coal t**s may hoard peanuts.
Warning: Don't use salted or dry roasted peanuts. Remember, peanuts can be high in a natural toxin, which can kill birds, so always buy from a reputable dealer, such as Chirpy, to guarantee freedom from aflatoxin.

The world is currently using the earth’s resources at an unsustainable rate. Continuing to do so our planet will continue to decline and leave it a poorer place for future generations to follow. We cannot reverse this trend single-handedly, but we do believe we can make a difference.
Chirpy uses:

The warmth in the UK is lovely at the moment but please spare a thought for our little feathery friends. Keep them cool by maintaining your bird baths. Make sure to keep your bird bath always topped up with fresh, clean water.
Happy splashing!!😁

House sparrows can be found from city centres to countryside, they like to feed and breed near to people.
Since the 1970's, numbers in rural England have nearly halved while numbers in towns and cities have declined by 60 per cent. Because of these large population declines, the house sparrow is now red-listed as a species of high conservation concern. ☹️
Most garden birds, even the seed-eating finches, tend to feed their young on insects at this time of year. You may notice birds taking caterpillars or insect larvae off to the nest, before returning to boost their own energy levels from the bird table or feeder.
Parenthood is tiring work, make sure you help them along with Chirpy premium birdfeed😁

Jays are the most colourful members of the crow family, however they are actually quite difficult to see. Quite shy woodland birds, rarely moving far from cover. A screaming call is usually given when a Jay is on the move, so watch between the trees for its distinctive flash of blue and white.

Glorious Dawn Chorus
The earliest risers each morning tend to be skylarks, song thrushes, robins and blackbirds. Wrens and warblers typically join in after a bit of a lie in. For a morning activity like no other, wrap up and head out with a cuppa around 30 minutes before dawn to catch the full concert as it warms up!!!🐦

Mrs. Jenny Wren!
I have never, never heard
Such a very big voice
For a very tiny bird.
You sit on a post
And you sing and you sing,
You're a very bold bird
For such a tiny little thing,
Jenny Wren.
The wren is a tiny brown bird, although it is heavier and not as slim as the even smaller goldcrest. It is dumpy, almost rounded, with a fine bill, quite long legs and toes, very short round wings and a short, narrow tail which is sometimes cocked up vertically. For such a small bird it has a remarkably loud voice.
It is the most common UK breeding bird, although it suffers declines during prolonged, severely cold winters.

Have you seen any Swallows yet? They start to arrive here from Africa end of March early April. Keep your eyes peeled!!!
Swallows are small birds with dark, glossy-blue backs, red throats, pale underparts and long tail streamers. They are extremely agile in flight and spend most of their time on the wing.
Just beautiful 😀

As nest building begins starlings, sparrows, blackbirds and other garden birds fly back and forth with twigs and other plant debris.
You can help them out by tying up bunches of tiny twigs, dried moss, and other stringy vegetable matter near your feeder

With Spring almost here Chirpy Bird Foods are still working hard towards using only 100% renewable or recycled packaging.

Time to help with nesting everyone!
The house sparrow, a regular visitor year-round, they are not fussy eaters and unlike many other birds they will happily nest near others.
This species is in serious decline so by putting up a little nest box you might even attract a whole community of sparrows, filling your garden with the sound of their chirping .We recommend our green next box with a perfect opening size for them, 32mm 😍

The chaffinch is one of the most widespread and abundant bird in Britain and Ireland. Its patterned plumage helps it to blend in when feeding on the ground and it becomes most obvious when it flies, revealing a flash of white on the wings and white outer tail feathers. It does not feed openly on bird feeders - it prefers to hop about under the bird table or under the hedge. You'll usually hear chaffinches before you see them, with their loud song and varied calls.

At Chirpy Bird Foods, we take great pride in the quality of our wild bird food that we produce, and we do not sacrifice quality over substance. In actual fact, we prioritise the well-being of our planet which is why we re-launched our range of wild bird food in 100% recyclable packaging, the FIRST of it’s kind in the UK!
Our original plan was to make it simple for people to feed high-quality bird food to our feathered friends, and to help birders enjoy the process too. Feeding wild birds can be great fun and there is no doubt in our mind that supplementary feeding of garden birds is essential. In essence, we want to offer you a great product, at a great price and delivered to you as swiftly as possible!
Because we value customer feedback so strongly, one constant comment we received was our use of plastic packaging. And as sustainability runs through our organisation, we then made it our mission to become the only wild bird food company in the UK to have packaging that can be recycled and become plastic free.
When we first launched Chirpy in 2017, we encouraged thousands of newcomers to welcome wildlife into their gardens, and due to our bold and colourful packaging we’ve also introduced youngsters to nature too. Suffice to say it’s been an amazing 3 years!
Behind Chirpy, there is a team of enthusiastic naturalists working hard to make life better for Britain’s birds and ensuring our bird foods are safe and nutritious. Please visit our blog for regular updates for all things birdy!
We are so very grateful that you have taken the time to visit us and we hope that you are impressed with our product range, because…..if your birds are happy, then you are happy, and we are happy!
