🐾This weeks bravery award goes to Jack 🐾

Jack had been missing from home, he was found by a member of the public and taken to the vets. Unfortunately, Jack's right hind leg had been injured in a suspected road traffic accident.

Jack came to us where he was assessed by the vet and needed surgery to amputate his right hind leg. He came in for the surgery and was such a brave boy 💙.

He has been in today for his first post operative check and is doing very well and finding his new found confidence with managing on three legs.

Sending get well soon wishes from the Croft family ❤️‍🩹, well done to Jack and his owners for being so brave.

Meet Gorgeous Boys Thatcher and Walter 🐾
These boys came to see our Nurse Jennifer and were extremely good boys for their nurse consults. Thatcher was so relaxed he laid on the floor for his picture for tummy rubs. Also, look at Walters hair do how magnificent.

Hello September! 🍂

It's time for cosy sweaters and warming up after coming in from the cold, but remember that at this time of year, there are still some nasties around for your pets.

Here are some autumnal health issues to keep an eye out for:

1️⃣ Parasites such as ticks and fleas thrive in cooler weather, so it isn't wise to hold off on treatments just because it's colder!

2️⃣ Canine Seasonal Illness often appears in autumn, especially in dogs walked in woodland areas. While the cause isn’t fully understood, watch for symptoms like vomiting, diarrhoea, lethargy, and muscle tremors.

3️⃣ Autumn brings an increase in toxic plants and mushrooms. Ingesting these can cause gastrointestinal issues, organ damage, or even be fatal. Stay vigilant during walks and clear any suspicious plants from your garden.

🍉Weight Loss Wednesdays🍉

Say hello to Archie our slimmer of the month. Archie has been coming for regular Weight Wellness Clinics with Jennifer our weight clinic nurse. Archie has managed to lose 3.9kgs, this is equivalent in weight to a newborn baby!! Archie and his owners have done a great job in getting this young chap to where he needs to be and he has bags more energy. Well done to Archie and his owners 🥳.

Three reasons why you should microchip your pet:

1. Proof of ownership - a microchip serves as proof of ownership, which can be crucial in disputes over pet ownership.

2. Permanent identification - microchips cannot be removed or lost, unlike tags and collars, so you can rest easy knowing your dog can still be identified.

3. Increased chance of being reunited - should the worst happen and your pet gets lost or stolen, you have a better chance of being reunited with your pet if they're microchipped.
..and a bonus point - it is now the law for both cats and dogs to be microchipped!
