CHRISTMAS OPENING.
Cliffe Kennels will be open for
BOARDING through out the Christmas period.
There will be no drop off or collections on 25th or 26th although staff will be on site caring for the dogs.

RESCUE will be closed 25th and 26th.

STRAYS.
The stray service will be open throughout the Christmas period but please call the relevant out of hours numbers before bringing a dog to kennels.
There will be no reclaims 25th or 26th.

We wish you all a merry Christmas and a very good new year.

Now the wet weather is here we are really struggling to dry bedding.
If anyone has any of the following we could really use them.
Thick blankets
Throws
Fleece blankets
Duvets (not feather)
Towels.
We don't use sheets or duvet covers, pillows or pillow cases.
We are open 9am till 5pm 7 days a week for drop off.

We could really make us of any newspaper if anyone has any.

As a mark of respect Cliffe Kennels rescue will be closed to the public for ADOPTIONS/VIEWINGS on Monday 19th.
We will be OPEN for BOARDING customers for delivery and collection
And will also be OPEN for lost and found stray dogs for delivery by finders and collection by owners between 9am and 5pm..
The usual out of hours services will be run.

STATEMENT OF FACT re Buddy
26/3/22 - Buddy was handed in by a member of the public to a vets in Huddersfield as a stray - they scanned him & looked up the chip.
Contact with registered owner was attempted but was unsuccessful due to phone number being unrecognised.

26/3/22 The vets phoned Kirklees Dog Services to collect Buddy as a stray- Once in their care his chip was scanned and looked up.
Contact was attempted with number on chip but was unsuccessful due to number not being recognised.

Pettrac the microchip database who held his registration were called for further information by Kirklees dog services due to his chip having a lost flag on it.
A land line number was given by Pettrac which was called but there was no answer.
As is required under law a notice to owner was sent to the address on the chip advising them Kirklees Dog services had Buddy in their care.
Buddy was posted as found on the Kirklees Lost and Found face book page.
Vet treatment was sought for a suspected prolapse.

After the statutory 7 clear days when no owner had come forward Kirklees Dog Services passed ownership of Buddy to Cliffe Kennels as per the legal requirements.

Buddy was then taken to the vets for his prolapse to be treated and to be neutered.
During that time he remained advertised on Kirklees Lost and Found page.
After recovery Buddy was posted for adoption and was later adopted by a respectable & suitable family.

11/04/22 We applied to Pettrac to change his chip details to his new owner.

12/04/22They called us to advise they had an alternative number for the registered keepers brother in law on their notes which was not shown on the chip registration and asked if they could give him our number, we agreed, He then called us and the situation was explained to him.
The registered keeper then called us and we discovered the phone number registered on the chip was incorrect on the 2nd to last digit and she advised us she had moved so the address was incorrect as well.
Buddy was adopted following the correct legal process and had his chip details have been correct he would have been returned home on 26/3/22
All of the above is provable by phone records and paper copies

Whilst we appreciate the disappointment & emotions the previous owner is experiencing it highlights how important keeping your microchip up to date is and checking regularly that those details are correct.

If anyone has spare blankets we could really make use of them, we are running low and finding it hard to wash and dry everything with the weather.
We don't need sheets, pillowcases, duvet covers, pillows or towels But we do need:
Blankets, throws and quilts (not feather please) anything with a reasonable thickness to give warmth.
We are open 7 days a week - 9am to 5pm and you can drop off anytime.

CHRISTMAS OPENING HOURS.....

We are open as usual from 27th December on wards.

Its fast approaching that time of year again and we are delighted to launch our SANTA PAWS APPEAL..
The dogs at kennels for Christmas would love to have their special gifts from Santa to open on Christmas Morning.
Some idea's for inside their boxes would be, Blankets, Treats, Toys, Collars, Leads & Harnesses,
Any Paws boxes can be dropped at the kennels between 11am & 4pm

We have availability for boarding over night or day care.
Various options available;
Indoors in heated kennels for smaller or older dogs.
Out door kennels with heated sleeping area and fully covered run.
All dogs are walked at least twice daily in our 5 acres of rural setting.
3 Large fully enclosed off lead play area as well. And 2 all weather play areas.
We can cater for single dogs or families in our larger kennels.
We also care for the more difficult dogs with special double gating system in operation.
Carer on site 24/7
Happy to give vet prescribed medication.
Your dog will be happy and safe whilst you enjoy your time away.
Fully licenced (BMBC 9084) and insured. Our staff are qualified.
We also board cats (and other small animals) in our newly refurbished cattery.
