Things have been a little hit and miss around here lately and everyone has had a slightly quieter time whilst I was attempting to heal! I had my shoulder fractured and foot well and truely broken but nearly back to normal now. Although my foot requires surgery I can walk about and ride so I'm making the most of being able to do something!🤷🏼♀️
Hera has continued her education and is making fabulous progress. She seems to have read a book or two and everything I ask of her shes just “yep, I know, I can do that”😍 So as soon as I could I took her to a couple of parties at Allen's Hill which is my favourite venue for babies as there is such a relaxed atmosphere and fabulous staff who are always so friendly and supportive. She behaved impeccably, collecting fabulous comments and marks from judges and bringing home rosettes too🥰 She has now done 5 outings and started popping fences at home but is ready for a half term holiday so will have a few weeks enjoying spring grass whilst she takes in everything she learnt so far!
As soon as I could compete again Dora continued her education, getting wonderful marks and comments from judges and in 3 outings had managed to qualify for the RoR Winter Dressage Championships at Pickering Grange . She was qualified to go into the intro and prelim so I decided to take a leap of faith and go with her. It was a huge ask on only her 5th outing but she was amazing and really rose to the occasion. She didn't bat an eye lid about being indoors or having a very busy warm up and she finished roughly mid division of the intro then in the prelim finished in the top 20 of 54. She really did try so so hard and seemed to enjoy herself 🤞🏻I couldn't be more delighted with her🥰 The next steps for her is to try showing and continue with her jumping so we will work on that now I'm back to fitness so she can really start to have fun!
