🎅🏼 Salon closed for Christmas 🎅🏼

Another year over already 😲 time to put the clippers down and turn the work phone off. I’m definitely ready for a rest 🤣
I want to thank all my customers for supporting me I couldn’t do it without you I have recived so many lovely cards,gifts and tips thank you all.

I will be back to work on 2nd January, all messages will be replied to then.

🖤BLOCK BOOKINGS FOR 2024 🤍

I can’t believe how close it is to next year….it feels like September was only yesterday 🤦‍♀️🤣

I would recommend getting your appointments block booked for next year to avoid missing out as the diary is starting to fill up ☺️

Please comment on this post if you would like to block book with your dogs name, breed, how many weeks you would like to go and what days of the week work for you.

I will do my best to give you all the days/dates you want.
I will be sitting down with the diary this Sunday afternoon so please let me know before then.

Unfortunately I will be having to go for another operation in January 🤞🏻.
As soon as I have the date I will be in contact with anyone booked in as I will need to take a couple of weeks off to recover.

Hi all,
Not my usual sort of post but as some of you know I went for a little operation last week.
I took the recommended time off, but unfortunately I’m still struggling. I came back to work today and I’ve been very uncomfortable and in a lot of pain.
If you are booked in this week and you can wait till your next appointment, I would be so grateful.

In an ideal world I would take a few more days off to recover, however, I really have nowhere to move anyone too so it would mean your dogs would miss out. I wouldn’t want to let any of you down.

Tomorrow morning Barklays.dog are hosting an event with Little Legs Dogs Rescue and The Dog Psychologist.

The dog psychologist is coming to do a Q&A so come down and ask away 😀

Tickets are £15 and all proceeds will be donated back to our local rescue Little Legs Dogs Rescue

Good morning all,

Im just looking at the weather forecast and contacting those appointments affected.

It’s looking like it’s going to be a hot week.
Some appointments will have to be moved as the salon will get too hot for the dogs. Again I will be offering earlier appointments on the days that are going to be too warm and I will be in touch if your appointment needs to change.

I’m limited on where I can move your appointment to as I’m going for a medical procedure next week and have time off to recover so please bare with me as it may be a longer wait than usual to get you back in if you can’t do an early morning appointment.

Wow what a day! 🤯

Big big thanks to Holly and Little Legs Dogs Rescue for all your help today getting the salon and cafe back to some order.

I know myself and Barklays.dog have been absolutely blown away by all the support, shares and kind messages we have received.
It really shows that there is so many more good than bad people out there.

I’m absolutely gutted for both us and the other 9 businesses who were broken into. All small most of them family ran, please please can we all look after our local small businesses, without your support they will disappear.

The cost of the damages done by this absolute scumbag are massive.

We all can’t thank Little Legs Dogs Rescue enough she has not only spent today helping sort, remove glass and sat with a little stall outside the cafe to sell all the cakes which would be going to waste as we can’t open for the next few days as we have to rectify the damages. She has also set up a go fund me link for a new door.

With the property being in a conservation area the original Victorian door has to be replaced like for like. Which is going to cost at least £1000…
Not to mention replacing the till system, loss of money from the till and loss of income 😭

We was broken into in the early hours of this morning.
Both Barklays.dog and myself will be CLOSED today.

I can’t believe this has happened we are such small micro business’ these scumbags don’t realise the devastating impact they cause.
It’s not just what they have taken but the massive amount of damage they have caused and the financial implications not only loss of business but to rectify the damages. We are all just in total shock! As such small businesses this is a massive.

If anyone is local can you check your CCTV as the thief made off down past the coop round the corner on a bike.

🔴GRASS SEEDS 🔴. I’ve spent the evening pulling these out of Bear some just held in the coat some in the skin… grass seeds can be DEADLY. Please read below and share⏬️. Grass seeds are small, pointy seeds that are attached to the tops of long grass stems. They're often found in meadows and woodland during the summer months, and they are a problem to dogs because they can easily brush off into their fur during walks.Grass seeds have very sharp ends, so although they're tiny, if they become trapped in your dog’s fur, they can burrow down and pierce their skin. They can also get stuck in your dog’s paws, ears, eyes or nose. If your dog becomes injured by a grass seed, it can be very painful. In rare cases, grass seeds can go under the skin and travel to other areas of your dog’s body, such as their chest. Once they get under the skin, they can become difficult to find. If you spot a grass seed in your dog's fur and it has not yet pierced the skin, you can remove it immediately at home to prevent a grass seed injury.If you spot a seed that has started to burrow into your dog’s skin, or if you think your dog might have a seed in their eye or ear or nose contact your vet as soon as possible. Treatment will depend on the location of the grass seed, but as grass seeds are invisible on X-ray, they can be difficult to find. Your vet may be able to remove the grass seed using a long and special pair of tweezers, however this can be painful for your dog, so they may need to be sedated.The sooner your dog is treated the better, as grass seeds can travel around your dog's body once they get under their skin.

Meet Jack 💔😭 Jack was dumped tied to a tree overnight and was rescued by a police man who went out of his way to get him to Little Legs Dogs Rescue Who brought him straight to me. He was matted solid and had been chewing at his skin, clearly in great discomfort for such a long time. He stood like a warrior for his groom even though it must of been so uncomfortable for him. This poor boy has nothing but love to give it’s truly heartbreaking what he has been though 😫 I’m still sat in the salon now just processing and having a little cry. Tonight was tough 💔💔 Thank you to everyone who donated tonight towards Jacks care!
