‼️PLEASE READ‼️

Please be vigilant when walking your dogs in and around the woods in between Stevenage football ground and St Nicks school. There is evidence of human faeces again in the woods which a dog has consumed and is currently seeking veterinary advice for. Please do not be alarmed.

Meet Tzatziki! 🐈‍⬛

This lovely lady was found as a stray with a wound on her back, likely from a cat bite. This means our knowledge of her background is limited, but she is a young cat with lots of love to give to a new family.

We think she might be around 1-3 years old.

She was wary of us when she first arrived but has grown more confident and now loves a stroke and comes to us for a fuss. This is on her terms but once settled she may become even more affectionate.

She had already been neutered before arriving here so may have lived in a home previously.

She would like a home without other cats, dogs or small children, and would like access to outdoor space.

If you feel you could give Tzatziki the perfect home please call Great Ashby Vets on 01438 745833 to express your interest and find out more information.

UPDATE

We are thrilled that these gorgeous boys have found a lovely new home ❤️🐈‍⬛

💚💚REHOMING💚💚

Meet Jude and Arnold! 🐈‍⬛

Sadly these beautiful boys were found abandoned on our doorstep a few weeks ago so we do not know much about their past.

Jude and Arnold are very likely to be brothers, however they have very different personalities. We estimate them to be around 4 months old.

Jude is quite a nervous boy but we are sure with time and patience in a loving home he will come out of his shell and be a great companion. When he learns to trust you he loves a belly rub and purrs a lot! Although Jude is nervous, he absolutely loves playing with toys.

Arnold is a very confident, affectionate and outgoing boy who loves a fuss and playing with toys.

It would be ideal if they could be rehomed together as we feel Jude will feel more secure with Arnold there. However, if the perfect homes come up for them separately, this could potentially be considered.

Due to Jude being nervous at the moment, we feel he would benefit from being kept indoors to begin with. There is the potential for him to become an outdoor cat in the future if he grows in confidence.

Jude is in photos 1 and 2, Arnold is in photos 3 and 4.

If you feel you could give Jude and Arnold the perfect home please call Great Ashby Vets on 01438 745833 to express your interest and find out more information.

✨Meet Rowan✨

Rowan is an 8 year old cockapoo who was recently involved in a road traffic accident. His owner brought him to us where we were able to give him emergency first aid and also some pain relief.

On first inspection it appeared to just be some bruising and abrasions on his abdomen with a few deeper cuts, however, we then discovered he didn’t have any feeling in his tail. We took some x-rays where we discovered he had fractured his lower spine right at the base of his tail. To avoid infection, it was important we dealt with the wounds before jumping into surgery.

Once Rowan was stable and his pain was under control, our vet thoroughly cleaned and sutured his deeper wounds, installing a drain to avoid fluid such as puss and blood accumulating in the body. He also had a urinary catheter placed as his p***s was so bruised and swollen it would have been painful to urinate naturally.

He was hospitalised with us for 6 days, during which the nursing team delivered around the clock nursing care, including:

💚 Wound management
💚 Drain management
💚 Urinary Catheter management
💚 Cold compresses to reduce bruising
💚 Bathing
💚 Light physiotherapy
💚 Hand feeding and tempting to eat
💚 Lots and lots of cuddles!

He was soon discharged to go and recover at home with his owner. We see Rowan back for regular nurse and vet checks and he is looking so much better already with all of the bruising completely gone! Once his abdomen is fully healed we will then discuss the options available about his fracture.

We wish you a speedy recovery Rowan and we can’t wait to see you again 💚

⭐Star Patient⭐

Who loves bagels?
We do... especially when they're in the shape of a Pembroke Welsh Corgi!
🥯🥯🥯

Bagel was our star patient this week as she came in for her spay, she was a super good girl and even made Chelsea her personal nurse! 🤣

Her mum likens her ears to Yoda...what do you think? Cutie one, she is.

Do your pets have a famous lookalike? Post pictures below!!
