❗️ CLOSING FOR NOVEMBER ❗️

Unfortunately I was hoping to be stronger than I am though I look ok on the outside I’ve been crumbling away. The last month or so running the business, Archies early arrival, recovering from a pretty rough birth, limited childcare and now muddling my way through PND I have been told by the Drs to take time away so I’ve decided the best thing for my mental and physical health is to take a step back from the business as I feel right now I can’t give my all to you as my wonderful clients or to my business.

This isn’t an easy decision as I really thought I’d be able to “crack on” because I didn’t want to let clients down.

Therefore Canine Co. will be closed for November and I will assess how I feel ready to return in December but this will be part time most likely.

We have some lovely table renters in the salon so you will likely still see the salon open.

I will temporarily be limiting my use of the business socials to reduce stress load, I hope you can understand.

We are back 👶🏼🤍

I will be back grooming little/medium sized dogs soon! We are having to adjust some dogs appointments as we are having to jiggle with our opening hours temporarily whilst we get into the swing of things!

The eye bags are getting bigger but he is worth it!

✨ WE WILL BE BACK OPEN ON TUESDAY! ✨

Further to our previous closure posts, closing until December or even November is not feasible for us as a small business.

Therefore we will be opening back up and running from Tuesday 22nd October HOWEVER please read…

• We will only have ONE groomer working 9am- 3pm Tuesday to Saturday so we will need to move some appointments to accommodate these hours.

• If you have booked elsewhere we RECOMMEND staying with that groomer incase we can not accommodate you. Any availability will be posted in due course. Just let us know if you’ve booked elsewhere and we can cancel the appointment in our system.

• If we can’t accommodate you we have some wonderful groomers we can pass you over to temporarily

• I will have baby Archie with me 👶🏼 the little man will be joining me at the salon so if I don’t see you I’m likely sorting him out.

• Jamie my husband will be helping for the next week in the mornings whilst I get ready to come in (turns out getting out before 9am is pretty hard with a newborn 😂)

• I am recovering from a C Section but hope to be back to covering grooms by mid November.

• April is still off work therefore I will cover when I’m fully healed and Molly will be our main groomer for the time being.

• I have not been in the salon for 2 weeks so I have not picked any voicemails up so I do apologise if you’ve left messages and thought we are ignoring you! I did not have time to change the message on our machine before Archie made his dramatic entrance 🥲

Little update ✨

Archie and myself are still in the hospital. We are really hoping to be discharged soon but he has struggled with a couple of things so we have to make sure all his levels are ok first.

I can clarify that having a baby is much harder than having a puppy 😂

❗️ IMPORTANT PLEASE READ ❗️
TEMPORARY SALON CLOSURE

Our lovely groomer April has suffered a nasty injury and will be taking a lot of time off work as she is unable to work until she’s had surgery and fully recovered which will likely be next year.

As you can imagine this has left us in a sticky situation with my baby due in a few weeks and Molly unable to complete her final exams in time meaning we will have to temporarily close the salon and cancel appointments at least in October and November 😭😩

This has not been an easy decision but we just do not have the staff to cover my maternity or the dogs April would have been grooming.

As a temporary measure we have contacted local groomers who may be able to help out during this time to keep your dogs groomed until we return.

I am currently back covering Aprils dogs however I will be completely honest and say I am struggling to groom more than 2/3 dogs a day now. I aim to work up until around the 10th October now and that’s only if baby stays cooking and doesn’t make an early appearance!

If I have to cancel your groom before I finish I am truly sorry. I feel absolutely awful that I can’t fit everyone in at the moment but our diary was already fully booked for a few weeks so I’ve just not got space.

I am so so sorry for this, I know it’s a massive inconvenience and not ideal having to use another dog groomer but I just have no other option.

Unfortunately it also means I will not get as much maternity leave as I wanted and likely may return to work much sooner than planned but everyone will be kept up to date with what’s happening once baby has arrived and I know where we are at a little bit more. It’s an uncertain time ahead as I cannot predict my birth or how my new baby will be.

We are really sorry to close the salon today unfortunately we are short staffed as April has had a health flare up and has been off work so I have been covering for her this week. I am having to go into hospital this morning with reduced movements and as I have also been feeling under the weather the hospital have asked for me to come in as soon as possible.

We are having to temporarily change our opening hours due to staff hours changing.

We will be CLOSED on a THURSDAY from OCTOBER until January 2025.

If your dog is booked in for a Thursday you will receive a text and we will be in touch to rearrange.

MATERNITY LEAVE 👶🏼

As my pregnancy has progressed I’m struggling more and more to work 😔 I’d planned to work up until a couple of weeks before baby was due however this won’t be possible with the pain I’m getting in my back and hips, making day to day tasks a lot harder than I’d imagined!

Therefore my last working day will be Saturday 31st August. I will not be returning as a groomer in the salon after my maternity leave as I will solely be focusing on running our academy.

HANDSTRIPPING

Something we don’t get to do a lot of BUT absolutely love! 😍

Obis first ever hand strip. Due to a leg injury we couldn’t fully complete the strip today but how amazing does he look?!

This groom took 2 groomers 2 hours! That’s how much hard work goes into hand stripping!

Obi will be back in a couple of weeks when his leg has fully healed to finish his groom off!
