Laike Dog Grooming is closing today......I hope you have all received your message from me.

We had the most heartbreaking day yesterday and have had to say goodbye to our old dog Stan......

Although we were expecting this in the near future....we didn't quite believe the speed of his decline. I couldn't possibly offer my best work to your dogs while mine is no longer with me.

We are truly broken and knowing how much you all love your dogs, I know you will understand my decision. I will miss you all and your beautiful dogs. Please give them an extra big cuddle today 💗

Hello all,
Firstly, I would like to thank you all for supporting my business over the last 2 years!🙏 It has meant the world to me that I have had loyal customers who were happy with my grooms and trusted me with their beloved dogs! 🐾
The past year has been very up and down and I have decided to have a fresh start and put down my grooming scissors! ✂️ It has taken me a lot to put this post out there as it is such an end of an era but is something that I need to do.....
I will be continuing with the appointments already booked in during September but won't be making any new bookings.

Thank you all so much for everything and please give your lovely dogs a big cuddle from me. I still hope to see a lot of you when I'm out and about walking....💖🐕 but I'm still really going to miss you all....😢

My good friend Verity has her own salon at home, similar to mine and I would highly recommend her to groom your dogs. She has so much patience and kindness with the dogs and will give them just as much love as they have had when they have been to see me.

We had to say goodbye to our 18 year old beautiful boy Alfie last week. I remember picking him up from a lady who had rescued him after his previous owners moved house and left him there. He was in a basket held together randomly by a fork......He was flea ridden, covered in wee and very hungry!

I bought him home to Andy Kelly when he lived alone in his flat to keep him company and he has grown up alongside us ever since! It was awful letting him go and thought that the vets handled everything so nicely.

Had this lovely card and gift though today from Connaughts Vets in Kingswinford....what a lovely touch! Would highly recommend to everyone as they have looked after Alf well for his entire long life! 💖🐾

This is a very sad example of what matting does to your dog. This is bruising from where the matts pull on the skin and the pressure of the tightening matt restricts the blood circulation. This can only been seen at the bathing stage as once the fur is dried...it fluffs up again. Owners are often unaware of the damage caused.
Please listen to your groomer...we recommend how often you should bring your dog for these reasons 🥰

Due to losing my lovely Grandma....I won't be booking in any new appointments for the next 2 weeks. I have cancelled some existing appointments already and will have to do the same with more. I will be rearranging and hoping you will all only have to wait a week or so before I can get you back in, but I'm waiting on a funeral date before I do this as don't want to mess you about again.

I apologise for this inconvenience to you all but need to take some time.....I will be glad to have the distraction of your dogs again very shortly.

⚠️News Alert

I have decided to temporarily close my doors...I feel that it is too risky working from home and having the children with me and just want to keep everyone safe! I am aware that by law, I can remain open for welfare grooms but just because I can...doesn't mean I should and hope you can understand that from my perspective.

Please keep up with brushing your dogs in the meantime....I cannot stress this enough! It is so important!

I really hope you will return to me when I reopen and I'm sorry to cause inconvenience. Keep safe all and I am here for any advice if you need it! ❤

Following the announcement last night, I will be closing the salon once again until further notice and all appointments will be postponed. My main concern is keeping both my family and my customers safe and have therefore decided to postpone your appointments until the numbers are falling again and it is safer for us all.

I fully appreciate the inconvenience this causes you all but believe me...it causes just as much to me also.
I will make sure you all get booked in as soon as possible after reopening and will post some helpful tips in regards to your dogs coats and how to maintain them at home.

If you are concerned about the welfare of your dog because their coats are already tightly matted...then please do message me. I will need to be sent photographs of the areas that are causing discomfort (due to insurance purposes) and I will be able to tell you the best course of action. It may be that I will groom your dog on welfare grounds or I may be able to suggest things you can do for your dog.

I trust that you all feel the same as me and wish that things could return to 'normal' as quickly as possible and by closing, I feel that this is my contribution to helping the NHS at the same time as protecting my loved ones.

You all know where I am if you are alone and needing a chat....always happy to natter, whether it be about your dogs or just some conversation!!

Keep safe everyone and thank you all for supporting my little business during these crazy times....I'm so grateful for those that have patiently waited for my reopening dates in the past and am very sorry to have to do this again. Much love to you all and give your dogs a big cuddle from me xx

Can't wait to watch these fellow groomers in action! I have had the pleasure of meeting the judges before and have thoroughly enjoyed watching some of the contestants groom in shows and attended seminars with others! I will be watching in awe, picking up tips along the way!! 🥳🥰
