Check out this budding young trainer. She has taken it all in and applied everything to her very young lab. She is so confident! Super proud of their progress. He is such a lovely boy. Well done both 👏 😃👏🐾
My son's 10 year old Chihuahua has done some scent work tonight, and boy did he thoroughly enjoy it! He is still going around the front room sniffing as you can see from the video 🤣
Scent work is one fun task that most dogs really enjoy. Why? Because they use their nose. Out of all the senses dogs use, the nose is the strongest.
It's also a fantastic confidence builder for young, nervous or anxious dogs. There is no age limit to this fantastic game.
The bond that develops between dog and his human is incredible.
Great to do when it's raining and you don't want to go out in it. 10-15 minutes is all that is needed to burn off that mental energy. Your dog will thank you for it 🙏

He does love Aunty Stella 😍

This big beautiful boy is learning to 'focus' when out walking. Isn't both this St Bernard and his owner doing incredibly well.
Super impressed 👏 👌 🥰

This amazing labrador working off leash, and he isn't quite 6 months old!!!
His owner has absolutely smashed it out the park with his training 👏
Massive well done to pup and owner.
Super proud 🥰

This lunging Lurcher struggled to keep all 4 paws on the floor when seeing other dogs, especially small ones.
With the help of my other dog, Fifi, this gorgeous Lurcher did incredibly well 👏🥰
Super proud 🥰

When Jasper makes the most of his time with our wonderful dog walker Stella! Yep, he is one lucky pooch 🫶 If you are looking for a dog walker who gives everything and more for your dog, then Stella from Miss Moo's Dog Grooming is highly recommended. My fur babies love her ❤️
This gentle collie becomes agitated when the owners autistic child is in the kitchen during meal prep times.
We worked on 'Place' training.
This allows the dog to feel settled and calm. 'Place' gives them a 'go to' when the environment gets a little overwhelming.
As you can see in this video, this collie finds the 'Place' blanket a safe area and she chooses to lie down and is looking really settled.
'Place' mats can be used outside the home as well. This is very useful for dogs who struggle to settle when away from their familiar surroundings.
Top Tip - Use a mat that has a non slip back as this will reduce the mat from moving. Some dogs don't like things moving under foot, so non slip mats, like a bath mat are brilliant, and can he folded up small.

Wish we had a video of what this beautiful boy was like before, but his owner is mostly on her own driving so wouldn't have been easy or safe.
This boy would get over excited with barking in the car. It would escalate very quickly and very loudly. The barking was so bad, that it had become very dangerous to drive. There were many triggers along his route that would create serious over excitement for this dog.
The owner and her family tried everything from ignoring the barking. Redirecting. Reward based postive reinforcement for when he didn't bark. Distraction toys, Distracting the barking. Trying to teach him not to bark. Changing the route they regalary take. Had him in a crate and covering it. Breaking the pattern. Clapping their hands to distract him. You name it, they have tried it.
The video you now see is after our first proper session early this morning when the owners went out for the day visiting places and family. We had worked on reducing the impulse to bark whilst traveling in the car, and they continued with this when they went out.
You can see him making the right decisions in this short clip and controlling his impulse to bark 👏 His owner is super pleased and feels confident that they can help him.
This is a working progress, but he is on his way to being able to travel in the car calmly, so his owner no longer needs to worry about the dangers of him barking and causing such a distraction.
It's not safe to travel when you have a dog who constantly barks. This would be like having your children on the back seat arguing loudly and it escalating. That's an accident waiting to happen.

This is the same nervous collie who would pull and zig zag as he is super nervous of the outside world.
In this video we see him walking calmly with the owners granddaughter.
I think we can all agree, his owner has done a cracking job helping build his confidence 👏
Building a dogs confidence requires certain confidence building techniques, that we use over and over again. It takes time and patience, but the result is worth it for your dog.
It's so vital we help our dogs lead a happy life. One with out fear.
I couldn't be more proud 🥹🥰
This beautiful collie has anxiety and is very nervous of busy areas.
This is his 3rd session where we have worked on desensitisation techniques and helping him to trust his owner.
He was also a puller on the lead, as well as a zig zagger. He lacked a lot in confidence and pretty much made it up as he went along.
In this video he walks nicely beside his owner. Yes, he is aware and nervous, but he tries super hard to stay bellow the threshold as his owner continues to walk him through the hustle and bustle of Christmas shoppers and cars.
Nice loose lead and he listens to his owner.
Super proud of the work his owner has put in to get him to this level 👏
Check this gorgeous boy walking lovely by his owners side regularly checking in 👏
This beautiful boy was born and lived on the streets of Romania.
He has that typical street dog attitude when out on walks (in the house, he's an absolute gem) where he needs to be out in front of his owner, doing what he wants, when he wants. If he doesn't want to go a certain route, will happily plonk his butt on the floor. This is to be expected with some older street dogs. It's all they have known before being rescued.
We worked on walking by his owners side on loose lead, checking in, and freely moving in the direction his owner wanted to go.
This was their first session, and didn't they do well! Looking forward to seeing their progress in a few weeks time.
Onwards and upwards for this fantastic duo 👏

Separation Anxiety (SA) is no joke! It's crippling for the dog as its a phobia.
Below is a short video of Max. He has suffered with SA for 4 years! No, they have not waited till now to get help. They have had other trainers before they contacted TDA.
As you can see from the video, Max is happily playing with his toy. He is aware that he is alone, as you can see when he looks and listens, but then quickly returns to his toy, and even lies down.
This has been a long process so far, and he still has a way to go. You cannot rush SA.
We are working on the owners leaving as a postive experience. So desensitisation techniques alone is not always enough.
Well done to Max and his wonderful owners! Onwards and upwards 👏👍
This little cutie would pull on his lead and wanted to get to everything so he could sniff. He would zig zag all the way. His owner wanted him to walk nicely on the lead.
We worked on becoming a partnership, encouraging him to check in with his owner, and to walk nicely by her side making sure he had a loose lead. As you can see he did just that and happily trotted by her side.
Obviously at certain points he was encouraged to stop and have a good sniff. The best reward for any dog 😊

This little cutie is nervous around other dogs, people and will bark. He is quite a little anxious boy.
He needed help with building up his confidence. Letting him discover the world isn't so bad. To do this we worked making the outside more fun. Scattering food is a great way for dogs to use their nose and reward that sniffing with finding a treat.
We worked on clicker training as well (he was even nervous of the clicker to start with) and everytime he checked in with his owner, we clicked and he was rewarded. Carrying on with the walk, walking by his owners side, checking in, he coped really well when seeing a few other dogs and at times larger groups of people in very close proximity. If he barked, it was slight, and his owner was able to quickly support him. He started to trot along, tail up and wagging as we watched his confidence grow.
Super proud of him ❤️

Just what you can expect from me, forrest, when I'm sitting for you and your dogs...:) (the captions don't show unless you click on the video, thanks Facebook)
The GSD on the right is incredibly reactive to dogs. This is fear Reactivity and this was half an hour later! The owner has worked incredibly hard with his dog and has only had him a few months. So proud of the both of them. So proud of my boy Jasper as well. He faces very challenging situations when working with reactive dogs, but takes it all in his stride.

Check out this gorgeous gentle giant 😍
He would drag his owner where ever HE wanted to go. It wasn't difficult with his strength. He would eat everything he could get at, which most of the time he was successful with.
Would lay flat on the floor to avoid doing anything he was asked to do. You try getting a St Bernard to move when it doesn't want too 🤣
He was not engaged with his owner at all, and yet, the sweetest and most loving boy.
Tonight though, very focused on his owner! They both really enjoyed their training together. Made fun and engaging. We worked on clicker training which he took to straight away.
To see his owner full of smiles was wonderful. To see her boy happy and engaging, priceless 😊
Bet he sleeps well tonight 😴
