Did you know?

That extra pad cats have further up their front paws actually has a purpose! This pad is called the carpal.
It's used primarily for when a cat needs to put on the breaks! You probably noticed your cat sprinting towards the toy you've got on the end of a string, you change the direction of the toy and within an instant your cat stops and changes directions. The carpal was used to assist in that move. Wild cats too use their carpals for the same purpose.
The ancestor of all felidae lived nearly 11 million years ago. We now have 40 species of wild cats roaming this planet! Both the similarities and the differences are remarkable, making the felidae a unique taxonomic group!

Good morning,Sorry long post but please read if you have time.I know it’s a tough time for everyone and I also know there are a lot of rescues asking for help,I follow a few but one very close to my heart is Next steps cat rescue,Some horrible person has hacked their page so they have lost slot of support.Please find their page and follow.
Also if anyone can spare a box of kitten or adult cat food when you next go shopping I’m doing a collection for them,I would be happy to pick or the customers that know where I live can drop of here and I would be happy to drop them of at Amy’s.Thank you for reading The following is copied from their new page.

‼️ PAGE UPDATE - PLEASE READ

So unfortunately our old page that we had worked so hard for over 2 years was taken over.
How?
We aren’t sure. We believe they got in through one of the admins but it is unclear as to how. They then removed all of the admins on the page. We have worked tirelessly emailing everyone and doing all the Facebook reports but still haven’t heard back. We couldn’t wait any longer to get back up and running so here we are.
Why would someone do this?
No idea as we can’t establish to what end the person who did this has achieved.

It is ONLY the page affected.
We are still able to access all of our payment platforms.

BUT
What it does mean is that our ability and reach thanks to all of our amazing followers has now depleted and that means we have to only concentrate on the cats we have as we are going to struggle until all the lovely people who follow us find us again.

It’s been very stressful but there’s no point dwelling on it. We have a job to do and that’s to keep going for the cats we have in our care.
