Goodbye my faithful old friends! You did what I got you for - London Marathon 2024 - but also took me 32 miles over Dartmoor and pounded the street of the San Francisco half marathon, not to mention over 300 miles of training around the lanes and along the canal. Now it's time to pass on the lace tags to some brand new colleagues for London Marathon 2025. Thank you for the miles and for helping me support the brilliant Young Lives vs Cancer

Catherine & her family have recently returned from California & and found the walk of fame, featuring movie stars through the years - their favourite star being this one. You can take the vet out of Tiverton, but you can't take the vet out of Catherine!

Did you know that 9 dogs in all have featured in the original Lassie films, and that ALL were male, playing a female lead! The first film was in 1943, the latest to date in 2005.

☀️☀️☀️Freya & Sirius here are 'modelling' the latest in hot weather chic for dogs - protective paw-wear. What a great idea to avoid burns from hot pavements & tarmac.( And yes, Freya lost one 'shoe' en route today!).

☀️☀️☀️ It's a little 'hot hot hot' at present. Here are some warning factors as to how the heat can affect cats, particularly older cats. Cat - or dog - always remember to provide shade & plenty of water - and keep those paws off of hot floors (especially burning hot pavements) 🐈 🐕 🐇 🐾

'There once was a (not so) ugly duckling', called 'Flash'. ..who was actually very cute but had a damaged beak. The clever client - who happens to be a medic - had placed a steri strip on the damaged beak & brought into see us. Catherine was very impressed with the client's actions & little more needed to be done. Get well soon Flash ⚡️

This little munchkin was brought to us this morning by a good Samaritan, having been found alongside the link road of all places; believed to be only about 5 to 6 weeks old. Rest assured we already have a couple of offers for a new home lined up. If ever a little kitten should be called 'Lucky'....

*Your cat should now be microchipped, by law, becoming a legal requirement on 10th June*

OUR FINAL REMINDER, as the countdown is nearly over. 'T' minus 5 days for your cat to get microchipped, prior to Monday, June 10th. On this date it becomes a legal requirement for all domestic cats, aged 20 weeks or over, to have a microchip.

Here is just one of the reasons why we are a GOLD STANDARD✨️ accredited CAT-FRIENDLY CLINIC. Junie, Giz, Albertine & Milk (wonderful names!) have all been with us recently for routine spays. As part of their care here, the nursing team created individual hiding places / cat caves, providing blankets & herbal calming sprays in each cat cabin. This would be standard care for any cats staying with us in the cat ward, if they have come in for a procedure.

Amongst other things that helped us achieve this merit, are our cat-only waiting room & two designated cat consult rooms - strictly no dogs allowed! This is not just a cat-friendly clinic, this is Park Hill Veterinary Clinic, treating your cats like the VIP's we know (and they know!) they are!

Veterinary life is full of contrasts, literally both little & large! Yesterday we had Bruce, a Neopolitan Mastiff visit & today we met 8 week-old Maisie the Whippet, on her first visit to the vets! It would be fair to say that whilst Miss Maisie sits easily in her proud new 'Mum's' arms, this would not be possible for the somewhat larger Mr Bruce! ( NB: beware falling under the spell of Maisie's beautiful eyes!).
