π± FELINE ARTHRITIS π±
Is your older cat less keen to play? Is he struggling with stairs? Or is he no longer able to jump? Maybe you've just noticed that he's getting a bit slow in general?
It is so important NOT to just dismiss these signs as OLD AGE. These signs could signal a medical issue, such as arthritis. Why not book an appointment for a senior cat MOT so we can make sure he's as happy and healthy as he can possibly be!

πΎ REMEMBER RUFUS FROM YESTERDAY? LOOK AT HIM GO! πΎ
Owner Milly says:
"Rufus is very happy to be feeling strong and fit again after TWO cruciate ligament surgeries! Huge thanks to Pattenden Vets for everything."
"An integral part of his rehab was the hydrotherapy with Charlene, who has helped get Rufus strong again and mobilise his back legs in a safe and controlled environment! I'm so happy too have my active Rufus back enjoying farm life!"
πΎ REMEMBER RUFUS? πΎ
Rufus came to see us last spring when he ruptured his cruciate ligament in his knee. Rufus leads a very active lifestyle and we needed to get him back on his feet as quickly as possible! After undergoing surgery with Andrei and hydrotherapy with Charlene, Rufus made a rapid recovery...
...until...
he ruptured the same ligament in the other leg this year!!
This is unfortunately very common with cruciate ligament disease and it is not uncommon to need treatment on BOTH legs at some point!
Rufus returned for another surgery and more hydrotherapy. Needless to say he is a bit of a pro on the treadmill now! Find out tomorrow how Rufus is doing now...

π³ IT'S GRASS SEED SEASON!π³
If your dog loves long grass as much as Worzel does, you may find yourself having trouble with grass seeds this summer!
Grass seeds attach to our pets' coats easily but can start to cause problems when they become embedded in paws, fall into ear canals or get stuck under eyelids. Their tiny barbs allow them to advance forward easily and stops them from sliding back out again on their own.
We tend to see numerous cases through the summer and autumn months and will try to show you some cases of how they present to us here at the clinic! In the meantime, be vigilant for sudden eye or ear pain after a walk or unexplained swellings on your pet's paws.
