£35k Horsebox crowdfunder target…smashed! 🎉

We can’t thank our kind supporters enough. With your donations our new horsebox will soon be hitting the road.

More than £9,000 was pledged in our digital crowdfund campaign. Three major donors offered £12,500 and then retired couple Sue and Keith from Totnes spontaneously donated £15,000 to cover the remaining cost of the vehicle.

Your kindness means we can help more horses and ponies who’ve been abused, neglected or abandoned. We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Our special online competition has closed, and our beautiful young c**t foal has a brand-new name…

‘Little Nev’

We love it! Thanks so much to everyone who took time to suggest a name for him.

Congratulations to Ben from Great Yarmouth for coming up with the winning name. Ben and his family now have the chance to visit Little Nev and his mum Nia, meet the team caring for him and take home some Mare and Foal Sanctuary goodies.

Sanctuary Manager Saskia says: ‘We were overwhelmed with all the fantastic name suggestions for this little one. As soon as we saw the name “Nev” we smiled – somehow it suited his character and playful nature. We liked the idea of his name starting with an “N” because his dam and sister are called “Nia” and “Netty”. We loved “Neo”, “Nemo”, “Noah”, “Nadeem”, “Nelson”, “Nickle”, “Nado”, “Nifty” and “Norman” and were very nearly swayed by “Nugget”, but every time we look at him, we all see a “Little Nev”.’

Look at Nia’s little c**t foal! He’s only a fortnight old and has already won all of our hearts.

He and mum are enjoying spending time together at our peaceful sanctuary under the watchful gaze of Nia’s field companion, grey Dartmoor mare Chandrani who was the first to witness his birth.

⭐ Rehoming Spotlight ⭐

Brodie is an 18 year old, Dapple Grey, pony who is affectionate towards people, often coming over in the field to seek interaction.

He will need to live out all year round, however, he would need to have his weight watched and have his grazing restricted to avoid obesity. His ideal home would be with another pony with similar requirements.

Brodie is being rehomed on our prime pastures scheme where we contribute to the cost of his care.
