We sell Japanese koi from our website ONLY as our new CEFAS certified koi facility is not open to public visits. This means that you can buy beautiful, healthy koi from the comfort of your home and have them delivered directly!

That nostalgic feeling. This pond has been through quite a few changes over the years, it’s grown and developed and then had a total overhaul as the owner’s aspirations and requirements have changed.

This video is now 6 years old! Where does the time go? It’s always good to see how far you’ve come as a hobbyist, as the saying goes:

“Look back but don’t stare”

We can’t wait till the weather warms up!

A large pond designed by the late Peter Waddington many moons ago. This has been maintained by us for some years now since we redesigned the filter room (an 8ft deep underground bunker that could survive a nuclear blast! 🤣). The original Magoi that Peter sold the client still resides in the pond and is colossal, god knows how old she is!

We’ve used this as inspiration for a few of the ponds we’ve constructed over the years, albeit with a more user friendly filter room!

It’s a great thing when clients trust your work.

This pond was built by us many years ago, originally constructed from railway sleepers and waterproofed with a boxweld liner, it served the hobbyist very well and stood the test of time.

But, as we all know, hobby’s grow, so we were called back recently for a “renovation” project, well that’s what the client called it! A total rebuild would be a more appropriate term!

5000 gallons of water filtered by a Combi ProfiDrum, fed via two bottom drains and one four inch skimmer, the pond is turned over every two hours and is heated via an air source heat pump making for a very economical way to run a koi pond.

On this job we also landscaped the garden, built a phenomenal ‘shed’ and laid Astro turf as well! Not bad fellas, not bad! 💪

This koi keeper wanted a second, smaller pond to be built. This was so he could affordably heat the water to higher temperatures in order to grow smaller pieces before moving them to the main pond. It was also to be used for overwintering any koi he felt needed some more TLC in the colder months.

The idea was to blend it in with the previous retaining wall in the hope his wife wouldn’t notice........... no it didn’t work! 🤦‍♂️😂

Despite the weather we managed to upgrade a clients filtration system from a sieve and bead to a Evolve 6000. All that's needed is a tidy up of filter housing. This is one of imperial koi first pond construction, still looks amazing. We also delivered the clients 65cm Maruhiro gin rin female kohaku this morning. Hope the weather cheers up this weekend so the client can enjoy his new toy and koi.
