“APPRECIATION POST”
I just have to express how much this boy means to me. Jeffrey is an absolutely crazy boy, bounces like he thinks he is a rabbit, body blows me, teases the other hot dogs, is a mischievous goon BUT he is absolutely beautiful in every way. I am still recovering from a stretched elbow tendon from a few weeks ago when he pulled me to get to a cat! It doesn’t matter because he is a loveable,crazy and loving boy ❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕🥳💕

“GETTING BACK TO NORMALITY”
The last 10 days have been pretty taxing to say the least, not only for me but for my hot dogs. Dealing with kennel cough as a professional dog walker is fraught with feelings of guilt and upset. Managing this virus is so so difficult but I am the tail end of it and my hot dogs who have unfortunately contracted it, are on the mend too with some completely recovered. Thank you to all my wonderful & understanding customers that have been patient in my decision not to walk healthy hot dogs if they don’t require walking. I have estimated that I have lost almost £1000 in income doing this BUT no amount of money will jeopardise the health & well being of my hot dogs. As I keep an electronic spreadsheet of what hot dogs were walked together and can go back 5 years, I can confirm that this weekend including Monday, will confirm any new symptoms that may arise in some (if any). So, next week will be back to normal apart from my hot dogs who are still coughing. Until their cough completely goes, they can not be walked to ensure that the virus is contained. I had 8 confirmed cases, which in the grand scheme of around 60 dogs that I walk, is pretty good. This has been managed meticulously my myself but the effect of the worrying has had on my old brain has made it hurt.

Wilson & I had a solo walk together to an absolutely beautiful place. We did around 6 miles together. I had no idea where we were going but that’s the fun part. Pity there were lots of sheep about 🥱🥳😇😍

Our Vic is back home! Whilst I was pet sitting he became pretty poorly and so, he had to stay in the “doggy hospital” overnight. This is him on his way back home today with his pawrents. I went to visit him at home as I was so so worried! What a darn beautiful boy ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Today, I received a phone call about a young pigeon injured on the canal. It still had its baby feathers bless it. So, off we all went to collect it and deliver it to Hird’s. Fingers crossed it can be treated and sent to “Animals in Distress” 💕

A special service for three special boys today. Their parents had to fly to Europe for the day so Boris, Herby & Jeffrey enjoyed two adventures and at 9pm, I am returning to pop them out for a comfort break and snacks 🙏🥰💕

“WALKS NEXT WEEK”

Careful planning of next weeks hot dogs adventures will be done. I will be contacting each one of my customers individually the evening before to check on their dog/s health & booking. I will be working as normal and may have to do several extra walks to ensure the safety of my hot dogs and the containment of the current kennel cough virus.

“KENNEL COUGH”
Unfortunately, kennel cough has risen its ugly head! Cases have been reported with other professional dog walkers in Todmorden. Hot Dog Walks aren’t exempt from experiencing this virus. It is transmitted via the air, on grass, bushes, clothing and hands. The incubation period BEFORE any signs are obvious is around 10 days and within this time, the virus can be easily passed on. Classic signs of kennel cough are a hacking cough, reversed sneezing, lethargy, the runs and lack of appetite. If any of my hot dogs are exhibiting any signs,
please let me know ASAP. I will be unable to walk any hot dog until all signs have completely gone.
