Urinary obstruction ultrasound scan
🎉✨Ultrasound scans are AMAZING!! 🎉✨This male dog arrived in a great deal of pain and feeling extremely unwell: he had been trying to wee for 2 days! Scan showed the tube out of his bladder got blocked with a stone at the level or prostate! Carefully managed to push it back into bladder to open up the tube and allow him to pee. Surgery or dissolution are the options now, owner has chosen to try and dissolve it, so i’ll keep you posted!
Doggy is now back home after 2 days of flushing his system with a drip in hospital: the blockage had upset his kidneys. He is much better now 😃🐾✨💜
Stones in urinary bladder form when urine pH or urine components change and deposits start to form. They cause so much trouble!
My record is removing 27!! bladder stones like marbles from a little spaniel called Ellie about 12 years ago!😃💜🐶🐾
Simple toys!
😸Cats don’t need special toys!😸

Our Wilma wasnt very happy with our nurse today for sitting on HER reception chair 🐱
🦔that tiny tonge💜🦔 Baby Harry came from St.Mary’s School, they had found him and realised was in trouble. He had surgery on Friday morning and that was sorted but his pneumonia was bad. I have spent the whole weekend treating him and feeding him little and often. On Sunday morning i didn’t think he was going to make it. Sunday evening he turned a corner and look at him now!! 😃🦔💜
🦔BREAKFAST IN BED!😂🦔💜
They’ve had their beds cleaned, bowls desinfected and refilled, wounds desinfected and creams applied, injections given 😃 Now time for breakfast 🦔 This one should be trady to leave us at the end of this week 💜
Sometimes it is our own pets that require medical treatment! 🐈
This is our nurse Sophies cat who noticed her doing a suspicious gulping last night! A closer look at her throat under sedation revealed a large grass blade stuck behind her soft palate! 🌞 We see this fairly frequently in cats over the summer months and is usually caused after vomiting up grass that then becomes wedged behind their soft palate and irritates the back of the throat! 🌸
Symptoms of stuck grass blades include:
Exaggerated swallowing
Gulping
Vomiting / Wretching
Nasal discharge & odour (if left for too long)
😸 Our beautiful Wilma enjoying the little bit of sun we had earlier on🌞❤️
😺 Wilma, our cat at the practice 😺 When she is not keeping an eye in Reception, she’s playing at the back 😃💜
As promised! 😃 Very often, after i ask to take a urine sample from a cat, owners ask me “But how are you going to do that?” Cats usually don’t mind, except for those who don’t like to be held at all 😺✨
😺 taking blood sample from a cat is usually a straight forward procedure 😺
Look at this gorgeous boy barely hold by the nurse 😃💜 i love this cat 😺
This is one of today’s inpatients, in for a heart scan to monitor his disease. He is keeping nice and calm and barely hold by the nurse 😺 His heart disease has not advanced since i saw it last, that’s the good news 😺❤️🎉 good boy!
National Black Cat Day today! This is what cats do when loose in the consult room 😃❤️🐈⬛
💜 some wildlife feeding duties before watching the Funeral broadcast. This rabbitt was brought to us on Saturday 😊💜🐇
🦔💜Late night feed💜🦔 This morning she was well and curling up strong, and has taken another full syring of special milk 💜🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
😃😸 my 17 year old cat behaving as if he was 5 😸😃
💜Sassy meanwhile she waits for me to do another patient’s heart scan 😸 She did not want to be in her cage, so we let her loose in the room and she jumped to counter and windowsill and chose her own waiting space 😹💜
