OH MY DOG

Hi all.. the dreaded Christmas booking post is coming to you even earlier this year🤦🏻‍♀️😂believe it or not I’m near enough fully booked for a few dates very close to my last days in over Christmas already .. so giving my regulars the option to get their slots in my diary sooner rather than later ..
Christmas week apps are first come first served. I cannot add any more on to the end of my days once they are full, so please drop me a message if you’re keen to have your grooms done as close to Christmas Day as possible .

If your dogs are on schedule with me regularly the easiest way to work out is figure out what day your wanting over Christmas first and looking back to what day I last groomed your dog recently then dividing the weeks in between those and working out what’s needed inbetween also.

Please note I will not be accepting any bookings from dogs that haven’t been groomed beforehand on schedule, prior to Christmas . I don’t have time for matting in the Christmas period whatsoever

🐾POLITE REMINDER 🐾

If you’ve a booking With me throughout summer please be mindful of the safety of your dogs when dropping and collecting ..
Please don’t walk your dogs down for their appointments where possible. Bringing a dog to me which is already struggling before it arrives, and then having it endure the driers on top of that is just not doable and I may have to turn you away .. I’d rather loose the booking than put your dog in danger.

Also dropping your dog and ‘going shopping’ or ‘nipping out of Warrington, taking you way past your dogs collection time isn’t fair on myself or your dog . I’ve had a number of people just presuming I can keep dogs with me for hours before/ after they’ve been groomed . It’s an absolute no no

Morning guys

Just a reminder with summer coming , as always I have a huge influx of customers coming in that don’t typically get there dogs groomed as regularly as most. But are wanting their dogs taken short to help make them more comfortable in the heat. I’m always quite booked up but this, leaves litrely nothing for regulars booking in late🤦🏻‍♀️

If you’re a regular of mine and not yet booked in advance for your summer styles already please drop me a message as soon as possible so I can get you pencilled in . I hate having nothing to offer those of you that have been with me for much longer than those drop ins

I was that busy with Rosie’s birthday celebrations last week and forgot a little celebration of my own..

OMD’s 6 year anniversary🎉🥰🐶
I started this little venture from the ground up with not a clue what I was doing .. but with the kind of determination that meant I could not, and would not fail. It just wasn’t an option for me!

In my first few months of opening one of my friends let me know what she was in the hairdressers and over heard the lady next to her saying she’d just dropped her dog off at the groomers, and told her hairdresser my name to which she replied ‘pffft Jenna Norman’s not even a dog groomer’ 🙄.. something so nasty and uncalled for , and what could of been pretty damaging to me just starting out! Anyways fast forward 6 years, thank god that customer gave me a chance, is still a valued customer of mine to this day and has sent many more customers my way💖
So to that ‘hairdresser’ .. who by the way had run her own business into the ground shortly after🫣 .. I just want to thank you for giving me that extra fire in my belly to prove not only you wrong and anybody else that may of doubted me along the way.

I’ve groomed thousands of dogs over the years, and believe me when I say I’ve broken my back to get where I am today.
I’ve seen sadness like you wouldn’t believe, neglect cases. And also given many ‘end of life’ grooms, right before my customers take them to their last ever vet visit 😢
This is not just a job to me .. I build relationships everyday, and always try to give the best advice I can. My phone dosnt stop into the night a lot of the time with customers frantic needing help. It’s hard going, but knowing that you’re so trusted, and that you can actually make a difference in a stressful time makes it all worth while.

Have I got another 6 years in me, I’d like to hope so. but the strain dog grooming has taken on my neck, back and wrists I really don’t think I have 😢
For now il keep plodding on, learning new things everyday and building what some didn’t think I was cut out to do!

Thankyou to all of you that not only bring your dogs to me, but brighten my days with our chin wags at drop off you’ve no idea what that’s meant to me over the years 😘🐶

✂️✂️CUSTOMER NOTICE✂️✂️please read (effective from today)

This week has to of been the worst weeks I’ve had in years, regarding people either blatantly not turning up for appointments. Or not giving me sufficient notice that they cannot attend.

I shouldn’t really be having to even explain this, but I am self employed meaning I’m not getting paid for just standing around of a day when customers decide not to attend their apps.

Imagine your employer turning to you multiple times a week saying ‘tell ya what go and sit in the staff room for ex emount of hours unpaid’.. would that sit ok with you? It most certainly would not.

Lots of groomers and other self employed services expect 24hours or even 48hours notice to cancel app’s sufficiently, thereafter you will more than likely be charged. I have always been fair.. the night before, or in some cases when it’s a total emergency, and out your hands, first thing that morning will be ok with me as I can then start the process off contacting the others in that day, and bring things forward. I consider that fair!
But all this week it’s been a case of me having to do the leg work, checking people will be with me to get told no, litrely not even an hour before at times!!

I am a one parent household, this is my sole income bar none.. I’m at the shop at 8.30 every single morning ready to work. I’ve had multiple hospital appointments to attend over the past few weeks, and have always managed to liaise with customers and not let a single person down myself . I respect all of you, and at the bare minimum expect to get the same back in return. If for any reason I have to rush off and cannot groom your dog that day due to illness or a family emergency with one of the kids, or even a mistake I’ve made .. when booked back in the price of your next groom will be discounted to reflect this as an apology. This is a two way street after all!

As of today anybody that fails to give me fair notice they will not be attending their apps will be charged £10 per hour, that I have booked out in my diary for your dog(s) .. this has to be paid before booking back in again. In some cases I will require the cost of the full groom to be paid in entirely upon booking . This will be for customers that havnt turned up for more than one appointment and not given me notice .

I did consider a deposit booking system but it’s not fair to treat my long standing customers in the same way when they continue to communicate with me fairly, and attend all apps set for them.
