If you suspect your furry friend has eaten any of the following toxicities, call your vet immediately for advice. Itβs a good idea to make a note of anything you think your pet has ingested; the brand, amount they have eaten (check packaging or bring this with you if you are unsure!) and time ingested.
Remember that your pets will always be curious about new items you bring into your house. Keep all goodies a safe distance away from your pets reach to help keep them safe this Christmas!
Are you bouncing into the Weekend like Vinnie? ππΆπ
Thank you for your continued support and input! Wishing you all a great Weekend! We will be back to respond to your messages on Monday.

πΎ This little critter is known as a fur mite! Found only on Guinea Pigs, the Chirodiscoides caviae mite is not visible to the naked eye. πΎ
Once under the microscope however, we can see clearly this little mite in its glory! The fur mite is relatively harmless but can cause the affected area of skin to lose hair and become thickened and crusty.
Mites can occur on a guinea pig of any sex or age but is most commonly contracted via infected bedding or contact with other infected guinea pigs. A parasite treatment should eliminate any infestation.
