Barney came in today for a full groom, taking those feathers and ears nice and short to stop bringing all those sticky balls and twigs home in his coat, claw trim and an ear clean! Doesn’t he look handsome 🐶

⚠️ Reminder ⚠️

Again due to a high amount of last minute cancellations and no shows this last few weeks I’d like to remind people I do have a no show/cancellation policy in place.

If you wish to postpone your appointment I need 24 hours notice. If less than 24 hours notice is given there will be a charge of £15 cancellation fee.

If you do not show up for your appointment you will be charged the full amount of your missed appointment before you are rebooked.

🐾Walk-in nail clipping🐾

No need to book! Walk-in nail clip appointments are available everyday in our salon during opening hours 🐶 we are closed Sunday and Mondays.

⁉️Why nail clips are so important?

Long nails create potential issues for animals — a splayed foot, reduced traction, deformed feet, and even injured tendons over time. As long nails hit the ground, it puts force on the foot and leg structure. This force can potentially lead to arthritis and ongoing pain. In addition, if they get too long they can not only break, they can also curl back into the pad. This is painful and can lead to infection. Excessively long nails can also affect the way your dog walks.

⁉️When do my dogs nails need clipping?

The average dog should have his/her nails clipped every three to four weeks, but it should be done as often as needed to keep the nail from touching the ground when your dog is standing. If they have already grown too long, you will need to get them clipped more regularly to train the quicks.

⁉️What are quicks?

The quick is just the center of the nail where the nerves sit and where the blood supply for the nail cells lies. We call it a “vascular” structure, meaning that it has lots of blood vessels. Unless you are trained to clip nails this is why you should get them clipped professionally as they’re can be risks, especially with black nails.
