❌ This is NOT okay ❌

As a groomer, I understand that I am at risk of being bitten- I get that, and so do my fellow groomers, BUT being bitten is not what we signed up for and it is absolutely NOT part and parcel of the job.

If your dog is known to be aggressive/reactive or has ever had aggressive tendencies, tell me.Dropping a dog off, letting me groom that dog and then announcing on pick up that you’re amazed we managed it because the dog has been to numerous groomers and been sent home as he’s shown aggression is not cool! (And yes, this did happen to me recently!).

Be honest with your groomer. If your dog has had issues in the past, talk to me. Lots of groomers will still attempt the groom but we’re forewarned. I may decide i need somebody to assist. I may book the dog in at a quieter time of the day, and i can be extra vigilant watching their body language during the groom.

Or, the groomer may decide they don’t want to groom your dog if he’s known to be aggressive and that is absolutely their right. But give them the opportunity to make that choice.

MY hands are my tools, if I’m bitten and injured, i cannot work and given that most of us are self employed, that’s a pretty big issue.

So please, be honest. We’ll love you for it ❤️
