We had a very special surprise delivery today of some donated dog toys for the unclaimed strays. Vinnie the longest with us on day 151 had first pick, a very beautiful thing to do thank you 💕

Vinnie - looking for someone to love 🌈

After being found in such a horrendous state and needing special care, Vinnie became a very loved member of the pack at Whitehouse Kennels & Cattery who have been looking after his rehabilitation ❤️‍🩹

His bravery and resilient lovely nature after facing such cruelty shows just what a very special boy our Vinnie is!

Vinnie loves his people and wags his tail and gets very excited when he sees a friend, He does tend to jump up if overly excited but he is quickly learning through gentle training, that all four paws should stay on the ground!

It is suspected he may have been ill-treated prior to being found as a stray, as he is nervous around men with a particular look and physique. He really wants to love everyone though, so with time he will learn to trust humans of all shapes and sizes again 🤞🏻

Found 45 days ago in Kingsdown Bridgwater no microchip, no information & not wanting to interact. Making progress , magic 💕

Day 69 of his recovery after being found with a horrendous leg injury. Gorgeous Vinnie is almost ready for a foster home through Dogs Friends. Could you or someone you know help him? 💕

This gorgeous boy was found badly injured last Sunday on the Priddy to Cheddar Road. Purple spray on his wounds but the tendons in his leg were visible 😢. So so brave with his treatments & wound dressings with the kind staff at Black Rock Vets so having one of his well deserved treats. We love you so much 💕

REHOMED Found petrified early one morning at the traffic lights at East Brent. No microchip & never claimed but now in her new home 💕 thank you www.dogsfriends.me.uk for helping her

At Whitehouse Kennels & Cattery we have spacious boarding facilities catering for dogs, cats, rabbits, guineas pigs, birds, reptiles and tortoises. We are very excited to introduce our new super-sized cat lounges which bring a new level of luxury boarding for your cats.

Our staff are fully trained, have extensive experience and a genuine interest in animal welfare. Set in the picturesque village of Eastertown it provides the perfect living conditions with easy access to the M5, A370 and A38 and our large car park accommodates all. And we naturally comply with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Model Licence Conditions and are licensed by Sedgemoor District Council.

Whitehouse Kennels & Cattery offer a professional and caring pet travel service and can help you relocate within the UK or overseas with your dog or cat. We are an experienced pet travel company.

Up until about 5 years ago we were the rehoming centre for the RSPCA for the Somerset region for the last 18 years. The RSPCA opened their own centre but we have continued to rehome dogs belonging to the local authorities that are found straying and their owners do not come to collect them.

When approached by a local residential home to go in every week with some friendly dogs to meet and cuddle the residents, we thought what a ‘brilliant’ idea and so set up the scheme ‘Cuddle Buddies’. We have three very eager dogs now that visit local residential homes, bringing fun and smiles to the residents.

We have a large shop stocking all of the main brands of dog and cat food. Within the shop we have available products for all pets and include a wide range of carrying cases and other accessories. We are a selected outlet for James Wellbeloved and support their rewards programme.

We’ve partnered up with Bushbells (www.bushbells.com) to create some very ‘cool’ colourful bandanas - made from their signature brightly coloured kikoy fabrics. They are all lovingly sewn by a small team of wonderful tailors, headed up by the ever smiling Sammy, and his team Lilian, Rahema and Ruth. The work that Bushbells generates for the tailors gives them great stability in an area of high unemployment and profits made from Bushbells’ sales are used to build classrooms, buy books and provide bursaries in rural coastal Kenya. So your ‘Bushbells Bandana’ purchase has real purpose!

We are able to offer for our holidaying dogs specially tailored Merishia Massage and Myofascial Release sessions here at the kennels at a discounted rate of £20 per session (Becky can be contacted on 07799837380).

Every year we hold at least one event for the fund to help the chosen charities that do such a sterling job and play such an important role in helping the local community and animals in need.
