Trained in positive reinforcement training techniques from Bishop Burton College but also the University of Lincoln, I use these techniques whilst grooming your animal to make your animal feel settled and at ease to the best of my ability during the grooming process. I am just working through my hours for the coming 6-9 months and had a quick look at Christmas...

The week commencing 16th December is nearly full 😳

This year is slightly different in that I will stop work on Friday 20th December, reopen for 2 days on the 30th and 31st December, and then will close again until Tuesday 7th January

If you love having your dog fresh for Christmas, please do consider booking soon. Once they are gone, i will operate a waiting list, but there no guarantee πŸ™ˆ

After this extended hours are in operation for 2 weeks, then there will be some disruption again around the bank holiday

Please be aware they have put temporary traffic lights up on the Melton crossroads by the school... there is also traffic lights further up towards Pytches Road...

This has caused traffic to back up to the a12 coming into Melton and past Sutton Hoo on the other side...

Hopefully they are only there short term but please leave additional time (plenty) and remember there is a cafe on the base, called Poppies cafe, one up at the Suffolk punch Trust and also Sutton Hoo if you want somewhere to go whilst you are waiting

Although I'm not technically at work today, I have just had a quick run through the diary, and the next space is Monday 12th August

If you are struggling to book online, it may be because someone has just secured that spot. I do run a first come, first served basis.

If you do need to change your appointment, please allow 48 hours' notice and be prepared you may have to wait a couple of weeks for a new appointment

Summer holidays begin at the end of next week which means my working hours are a bit all over the place, taking time off with my daughter and working longer days to counteract this

Normal service will resume in September but as always please do try booking online before calling. Quick queries please do drop me a message and I will return at the earliest convenience

Just a quick note to say as I am still struggling to catch up with messages whilst grooming, so the easiest way to book an appointment is via the online booking system

If you have used my services since March this year, I should have your details on the system, so please use your mobile number to log in to your dogs account. If you haven't or are new customers, please set up a new account

You will notice you are required to sign T&Cs, which does now require a payment card at the time of booking. No payment will be taken via this method unless you fail to turn up or do not provide 48 hours' notice for a cancellation. You will be notified if this is the case. Sadly, I have had to put this in place due to the continuous noshows from a minority

I will try this, but if they do continue, I will have to make a decision on how to prevent this from continuing to happen

I have had a couple of people saying they can't see times available. That will be because I am full on those days but scroll through, and if the day highlights in green, there is space

I have very limited availability until mid-July, and then it looks very busy throughout the summer, so please bear this in mind and plan ahead

As previously stated, I am working later into the evenings on many days in the summer so that I can take some time off too

The cancellation list is also constantly running, just in case

Normal service will resume in September once Kiera is back in school 😊

Well, here is Rosie, also known as Pig, who will prove that wrong...

This is so satisfying for us as stylists to know we have saved the clean up at home and more importantly when the summer does arrive (πŸ™ˆ), Rosie will be able to manage her body temperature more effectively as the air will now reach her skin better

The new hydrobath certainly worked its magic today, working deep down to the skin to loosen all of the dead hair away effectively and easily, minimising excessive brushing

I thought it was time that I reintroduced myself for those of you who aren't familiar with myself

My name is Ceri (pronounced Kerry), and I am the name behind Pawticulars.

I started Pawticulars in 2014, almost 10 years ago, when I wanted to fulfil a passion of working with dogs

During high school I knew I wanted to work with animals, but didn't know in what manner. So I completed a college course and then went on to complete 2 degrees in Animal behaviour. By this point I was set on being a dog trainer but couldn't establish myself, so ended up working in retail and sales

During this time I developed a love for the creative side of grooming, and wanted to explore this further. I went onto become fully qualified and opened Pawticulars in 2014

My passion was always to work with dogs, to make this routine part of their lives less stressful, and this became the main focus of Pawticulars. Pawticulars flourished over the 10 years, training multiple stylists and welcoming many dogs through the doors.

Alongside establishing Pawticulars, I began a new hobby of agility. And this has become a massive part of my life, seeing me off competing a lot of weekends.

As if all of running a business and addictive hobby wasn't enough, I also am navigating the role of being a solo parent to Kiera, who's now 5.

Pawticulars took a change of direction earlier this year to try and establish a better life and business balance. This led to moving the business to a purpose built salon at home.

I hope that gives you a small insight into who is behind Pawticulars. Thank you for continuing to trust me to take care of your loved ones and thank you for supporting my business. It is true that supporting small businesses really does make an incredible difference to the person behind it πŸ’•

Now that the diary has settled, I have some availability in June, this being said July and August is looking very busy due to limited working hours for the school holidays, but I am working longer days to counter balance this

I have reopened the online booking to new customers or previous customers who haven't used us since February...

Please note I can not accept dogs over 30kg, dogs that are excessively noisy or dog aggressive

Firstly, apologies if you are struggling to get through to me...

Now I am the only stylist, I find myself styling more and not having the time for admin such as bookings and enquiries.

If you have a query about a booked appointment, it may be easier to drop me a text or WhatsApp, and I can reply quicker than calling back. Bookings are still available online for those who have visited recently. Voicemails are being monitored, and I will try my hardest to call back where I can, but please leave a number

Sadly, for the month of April, I lost Β£420 in no-shows or late cancellations. Normally, I wouldn't declare this information, but sadly, now it's just me that's a loss I can not swallow like before, and it now impacts my wage.

As per my T&Cs, failure to provide 48 hours notice or complete failure to turn up will result in a full charge. I don't want to go down the route of deposits as that is just more admin for me but if it continues its something I will have to consider. Please be mindful as I have a very long list of people waiting for appointments

I will be running a cancellation list for the rest of April and May, but there is no guarantee. I may also struggle to reschedule your appointment if you need to change it

For the time being, I will be prioritising dogs who's are on regular schedules and sadly cannot take on new customers currently

Hi Everyone

Now we have settled into our new home. I just wanted to remind you of our opening hours

All appointments must be booked in advance. Sadly, no walk-ins

These will be the hours until the summer holidays, and then they will probably be tweaked

Appointments may be available outside of these times

A reminder, although the business is at my home, the idea for the move was to gain back some work/life balance so I won't be answering queries on my days off or at unsociable hours. Please respect the hours above, and any queries will be answered when I'm back working.

One of my aims by relocating was to create a more relaxing environment for the dogs...

Alongside the new salon, I have created a private garden, where dogs on arrival and once they have been groomed can stretch their legs and relieve themselves if need be, weather permitting, of course...

In this area is artificial grass to ensure cleanliness of your dogs after their groom and so I can maintain good hygiene levels with regular disinfecting...

Safety is my number one priority, and all areas of the salon and garden are double gated or double fenced.

The dogs that have visited have thoroughly enjoyed having an explore whilst they've been in πŸ₯°

I do have some final work to do on fencing, but please only enter the salon and not my private garden (beyond the salon) or the bungalow. There is temporary fencing in place in the meantime, and hopefully, I will have this replaced very soon


A couple of things to be aware of:

πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈWe are an appointment only salon. Sadly, there are no walk-ins or queries about existing appointments. Please call to discuss these.

⏰️ Appointment times must be kept to, space is more limited compared to the old shop so please be on time to drop off and collect. Many days I need to be prompt in leaving to collect Kiera, so please be aware of this and last collection will be 2:45pm unless I have told you a later time during school holidays or specific days

🏑 Please be respectful to my neighbours. Please park sensibly on the opposite side of the road to my bungalow or just round the corner. There is a poo bin located in the walkway. Please put any deposits in this bin. Poo bags are available if you need them

πŸšͺ On arrival, if the grey gate is closed, we aren't quite ready for you, so please have a little walk around. If the grey gate is open, come on through, closing the white gate behind you

πŸ’‡πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ All appointments with Melissa at this salon, must contact her directly via her business. Sadly I cannot help with any of her bookings as this is a separate business.

🐢 Finally, as you are directly entering the salon, with limited reception area, if you know your dog to be a little fidgety, try not to arrive too early, it can take me longer to settle them down again to complete their styles


All other aspects of our service should be the same as what you know and love

Just a quick message to say our Melton Salon has now closed permanently...

Firstly a massive thank you to all of the support we have all received, I am constantly blown away by the love we receive off you all and this has been no different. The last 10 years have not been possible without your continued loyalty and I cannot thank you enough for that.

The support you have shown Beth, Melissa and Becky in their new adventures is incredible.
I am very proud to say we had the best team Pawticulars has ever had, which is down to these girls, along with Holly, who is behind the scenes. Please do continue to support these girls as it really does mean the world to me and them

Finally a big thank you to all of my friends and family who have supported every decision I have made. Pawticulars at Melton has been a family run business from the start and will continue to be moving forward just on a smaller scale

I am just working very hard behind the scenes, setting up the new salon in Sutton Heath before I introduce you all to it...

And finally, today was Melissa's last day working for Pawticulars...

Melissa began working at Pawticulars 4 years ago, where she was chucked in the middle of covid and a restructure of the business...during that incredible tricky time and every day since she has worked her socks off to provide the great service you all know and love here at Pawticulars

Melissa began working as an assistant and has worked her way up to be another outstanding stylist, holding the Fort in my absence

Her drive to incorporate her skills in training dogs and understanding behaviour has worked hand in hand to build confidence in dogs who have needed that extra reassurance and understanding. Over the years, she has worked with numerous nervous dogs or dogs who have had negative experiences, and she is incredibly proud, as am i, of how they have developed and settled in her care

Melissa has been a pleasure to work with, but I know she will excel by providing her first class service in her own business

Whilst Melissa will still be present currently, working from the new salon in Sutton Heath 1 day a week, she will be very much missed by all

Today was Beth's last day working here at Pawticulars...

Beth began working at Pawticulars 18 months ago with very high ambitions, and I'm so incredibly happy those ambitions have never left her

Her desire and passion to create perfect styles and always improve her skills have not gone unnoticed

Not only has she developed into an incredible stylist, her compassion and handling is second to none. She's incredibly patient and constantly strives to make sure the dogs are comfortable in her care

Over the last 18 months I have asked lots of questions of Beth with varying techniques from handstripping to hand sc******ng and she has always taken up the challenge and proved her abilities are more than capable sending out some outstanding grooms

Beth will be very sadly missed working at Pawticulars but I know she is going to absolutely smash running her own business now she has the confidence and skills to do so

Today was Beckys last day working with us...

She has been with us since last summer, initially starting out as work experience to support her college course, and worked her way to Junior Canine Stylist

Becky has been a true asset to our team and has completed some outstanding grooms on many of your dogs and also mine πŸ™Š. It is always the sign of a great groomer when I let them loose on mine, swipe to see the style she completed on Perro today πŸ€—

We will all miss her very much but she is going to go far in our industry and I can't wait to watch her develop further
