We have been informed that the motorway bridge just before The Coppins (if you are coming from the A38) will be closed on 18th-21st March between 9am-5pm.

We just wanted to make you aware so you can plan your journey accordingly if coming to the practice on those dates. Unfortunately both alternative routes from Cromhall and Tytherington are narrow, single track lanes with very few laybys which may be difficult with the increased flow of traffic.

27/01/2024

As of 12th January 2024 there has been a change in regulations, regarding the prescribing of prescription only medications (POM-V's). The updated legislation now states that all Veterinary Surgeons must carry out a clinical assessment of the animal before prescribing medication. This is a change made by the national regulatory body affecting all Vets. Therefore, to comply with the Veterinary Medication Regulations we will need to see your pet to prescribe the following:

- Antibiotics
- Antivirals
- Antifungals
- Antiparasitic (flea and worm treatment)

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

By the 10th June 2024 it will be compulsory for cats to be microchipped 🐱

Did you know the microchipping Law regarding cats is changing?

Compulsory microchipping of cats is coming into place as of 10th June 2024. Therefore it will be a requirement that all kittens have a microchip by 20 weeks old.

A microchip is implanted between the shoulder blades which when scanned, will provide a unique identification number for that animal. Therefore, if your cat is lost or handed into the Vets we are able to scan the microchip and trace the owners details from a database. This is great news as currently a non-microchipped cat is likely to be rehomed if there is no way of locating the original owner.

Once the microchip has been registered it is then the owners responsibility to ensure the keepers details are kept up to date (address, phone number, email address).

Better late than never🤦🏼‍♀️

Yesterday was International Cat Day! We would love to see photos of your kitties and hear a bit about them😁

At the practice we have a mischievous trio:

Fang🐱
Fang came to use as an abandoned small kitten who was found by a client of ours in a cat bed on the side of the road. He was quite a fiery kitten and would often hiss at us when we tried to feed him. We soon all fell in love with him, and he stayed with us❤️ When Fang isn't sat on Ken's lap being brushed he will often be found demanding large quantities of dreamies from each of the nurses!

Bluebell🐱
Bluebell came in to us as a stray kitten, we tried to find her home with no luck. We contacted all local cat rescues who at the time were full. So of course... she stayed! She's an independent girl who enjoys spending her time hunting in the field. On the odd occasion she will let us have a cuddle!

Sq**rt🐱
Squirrel was brought into us as a very poorly, weak kitten. Amie spent hours upon hours nursing her back to full health. Sq**rt is selective over who gives her fuss, Ken is definitely her person. She spends her time being Bluebell's sidekick!

Pictures are Fang and Bluebell, because Sq**rt would never sit still long enough to be caught on camera📸
