Introducing The Dargavel Flyer! 🚛

Our vehicle naming convention celebrates colleagues who work or have worked for Pickfords. The Dargavel Flyer was named in honour of Julian Dargavel, who worked for Pickfords over 35 years ago as a commercial moving specialist, alongside his wife Gladys.

To celebrate Julian's 90th birthday earlier this year, we wanted to acknowledge his contribution to the company. With the vehicle livery now complete, we took The Dargavel Flyer to Julian's home yesterday morning to present it to him. Julian's former colleagues also attended and came together to reflect on his legacy at Pickfords.

The Dargavel Flyer will be based at our Wembley branch and will support our business moves, proudly carrying Julian's name as a gesture of appreciation for his dedication and service.

Last week, Pickfords held our annual Managers Conference in Milton Keynes, bringing together our managers from across the company 🚛✨

The conference was an insightful day, packed with important company updates, new goals and a vision for the year ahead, presented by our Managing Director, Network Director, Area Managers and HR.

We kicked things off the evening before with a fun quiz, featuring questions that took a look back at highlights from the last financial year. Awards were handed out throughout the quiz for top performance in various categories 🎉

We also hosted our Manager of the Year 2024 awards ceremony, where we honoured two of our managers:

🌟 Adam Wilding - International & National Sales Manager
🌟 Jemma Searle - FCDO Team Lead & Liaison, Government Service Centre

Both managers were recognised for their commitment to staff development, customer quality and achieving business objectives. A huge congratulations to Adam and Jemma, and thank you for all your hard work 🏆💙

After the quiz and awards ceremony, we enjoyed a dinner and entertainment by an incredible magician. Everyone had a great time - we're still trying to figure out how those amazing tricks were done! ✨

On Tuesday, Pickfords Scotland took part in a charity cycle event, raising an amazing £810 for the Removers Benevolent Association (RBA). Over 12 hours, the team took turns on the bike, covering a total of 295 kilometers 🚲

The RBA is a vital charity that supports those in the removals and storage industry who fall on hard times. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped us raise such an impressive amount of money for a great cause.

On Wednesday, 30th October, Pickfords Move Management was announced the winner of this year's 'International Moving Company of the Year' award, at a glamorous black-tie event hosted at London's Royal Lancaster Hotel.

Yesterday, Pickfords held an exciting pumpkin carving competition for a chance to win the 'Pickfords Pumpkin Carving Competition' trophy 🎃🏆

We had some amazing entries but here are the winners:

🎃 1st Place: Adam Wilding and his wife for their creative pumpkin pregnancy announcement! 👶

🎃 2nd Place: Anonymous entry for their fantastic green Ghostbusters creation 👻

🎃 3rd Place: Claire Blakesley for her friendly-looking pumpkin face, even if the nose did eventually fall off! 😊
