And they are home! From a cave in Chania area, dumped and scared, to us for a while and now their owner came from Germany to pick them up himself! What a good, loving and friendly owners they got❤️. Have a good life little girls, we will miss you!

We are regularly contacted by visitors and local people who have ‘found’ kittens. There is one essential rule – LEAVE THEM BE!
A mama cat will sometimes have to leave her kittens for several hours while she finds food, or she may be in the middle of moving her kittens and been disturbed. Please don’t assume they have been deserted or orphaned and pick them up. Keep your distance and wait to see if the mama returns. If there are children around do your best to make sure they leave the kittens in peace and don’t handle them.
Every year animal welfare associations have to take in kittens unnecessarily because well-meaning people think they have ‘saved’ them. Rearing unweaned kittens is a time-consuming business and separating kittens younger than 8 weeks old from their mother is harmful to their wellbeing. Kittens need their mother and she is their best possible caregiver.
Only if the mother does not return after a few hours should you take action, as obviously the kittens will not survive without her feeding and looking out for them. It could be she has met with an accident or people have scared her away for good. Contact a local vet or animal welfare group for advice.
Επικοινωνούν τακτικά μαζί μας επισκέπτες και ντόπιοι που "βρήκαν" γατάκια. Υπάρχει ένας βασικός κανόνας - Αφήστε τα!
Μια μαμά γάτα μερικές φορές θα πρέπει να αφήσει τα γατάκια της για αρκετές ώρες ενώ βρίσκει τροφή, ή μπορεί να είναι στη μέση της μετακίνησης των γατών της και να την έχουν διακόψει. Μην υποθέσετε ότι έχουν εγκαταλειφθεί ή έχουν μείνει ορφανά και μην τα μαζέψετε. Κρατήστε αποστάσεις και περιμένετε να δείτε αν η μαμά επιστρέψει. Αν υπάρχουν παιδιά τριγύρω, κάντε ό,τι μπορείτε για να βεβαιωθείτε ότι αφήνουν τα γατάκια στην ησυχία τους και μην τα αγγίζετε.
Κάθε χρόνο οι φιλοζωικές οργανώσεις αναγκάζονται να αναλαμβάνουν άσκοπα γατάκια επειδή καλοπροαίρετοι άνθρωποι νομίζουν ότι τα "έσωσαν". Η εκτροφή μη απογαλακτισμένων γατάκιων είναι χρονοβόρα υπόθεση και ο διαχωρισμός γατάκιων ηλικίας μικρότερης των 8 εβδομάδων από τη μητέρα τους είναι επιβλαβής για την ευημερία τους. Τα γατάκια χρειάζονται τη μητέρα τους και αυτή είναι ο καλύτερος δυνατός φροντιστής τους.
Μόνο αν η μητέρα δεν επιστρέψει μετά από λίγες ώρες θα πρέπει να αναλάβετε δράση, καθώς προφανώς τα γατάκια δεν θα επιβιώσουν χωρίς να τα ταΐζει και να τα φροντίζει. Μπορεί να έχει πάθει κάποιο ατύχημα ή να την έχουν τρομοκρατήσει οριστικά οι άνθρωποι. Επικοινωνήστε με έναν τοπικό κτηνίατρο ή μια ομάδα προστασίας ζώων για συμβουλές.

Lola is getting so much better, she is healthy and still looking for a home!

Female dog, German shorthair, found in bad condition. She learned probably not to eat from the street so was starving from thirst and hunger. She is getting better now but can not stay where she is . Around two or three years probably. Sweet, obedient and really wants her own person.

Anybody interested?
