As the weather begins to pick up and calves are being turned out to grass, here are some top tips to maximise your calf health during this period ✅🛡️

- Turnout healthy calves only, if possible, on a mild day. ☀️
- Maintain concentrate feeding for at least one month, typically 1kg per animal per day, to mitigate stress. ✅
- Allow calves access to grass before older stock to minimise risk of spreading of disease. 🦠 ❌
- All calves should receive a dose of Vecoxan 1-2 weeks post turnout to prevent coccidiosis, where there has been historical issues. 🤒
- Ensure there is access to fresh water within the paddock. 💧🐄

Talk to your vet for more guidance at turnout.
