This week, the dog communities have been hit with a massive blow ( both business & families) .
Firstly our insurance companies will not cover any restricted breed to be held at kennels/day care or be groomed.
Dogs on Irelands restricted list or any cross breeds of the following

American pit bull terrier
English bull terrier
Staffordshire bull terrier
Bull mastiff
Dobermann pinscher
German shepherd (Alsatian)
Rhodesian ridgeback
Rottweiler
Japanese akita
Japanese tosa
Bandog
Then came the next blow, within one of the pounds in Dublin City council, that all dogs on the restricted list that enter the pound, will be euthanised within 5 days if not claimed by the owner, they will not be given the chance to be rehomed or go to rescue. I would imagine, it won’t be long untill all county council shelters will follow in suite !!
Make sure your dog is Microchipped, because if you can’t legally declare your dog, your dog will be put to sleep !!
& now we have the ban on XXBullies.

It’s understood the ban will be implemented in two phases, the first of which will take effect in October.

Royal dog rescue reaching out to help on the costs of spaying & neutering your pets, giving them the oppertunity of a longer healthier life 🐾

SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PET MONTH

Spaying and neutering your pets plays an integral role in managing the birth of unwanted puppies and kittens across the country. For the month of July alongside our microchip month we are subsidising spay and neutering to the public. We are reaching out to all welfare recipients and those of you on minimum wage to encourage and support reducing unwanted babies.
We have neuter/spay available for cats and dogs in Virgina Veterinary Cavan and will update on participating vets in Navan area.

Cats subsidy will be 35 male and 40 for a female.

Dogs subsidy is as follows

50 for small dog
60 for medium dog
70 for large dog.

The amount applicable to your specific pet will be paid by the Royal Dog Rescue and remaining balance is the responsibility of the owners. Please check with the Veterinary practice the price for your pet.
If you have to cancel the appointment for any reason, please notify the practice in a timely manner.
