It’s Mounted Games training again this evening and as you can see I have been in training! Apparently my turns need work, I’m fast through the bending poles but not so quick to turn at the ends (I blame my bottom, which oddly enough is shrinking!) As you can see from the photo HWMBO has ideas on how to improve these skills!!!! Mind you I’m getting an easier time of it than Rainbow, she’s really being put through her paces, and boy does she have some, who knew it … certainly not HWMBO!

Rainbow if she was human would be the person who has worked out that if you sit at the back of the class pulling faces at people you will in general be left alone and nothing will be expected from you, however she has underestimated Soft Touch’s ability to try and bring the best out in you, i mean she should have known, look what she does to me, pulling my mane and bathing me regularly and making me into a generally dapper, about town man. 🤦😆

Rainbow is on a fitting programme, to rival the Olympic athletes, she’s being lunged and loose jumped and Soft Touch has even mentioned sitting up on her!!! But look at the pictures she can jump and point her toes! She might be beginning to shine. Haven’t had a chance to ask her what she thinks about it all, she’s still pulling faces at me, she doesn’t realise I love a challenge.

In other exciting news the pony ranks are swelling around here with the arrival of Daisy out of Soft Touch’s mare Kitty, bred especially for Polly. By the Connemara she will hopefully jump for fun, and there was a lot of excitement when she arrived without fanfare early, on a sunny Sunday morning. Watch this space, I plan on having some revenge for these long reins by teaching her every bad habit I know!

And (yes know not the best way to start a paragraph!) on that note I will wish you all a very happy Bank Holiday weekend, I believe Soft Touch has a Derby show planned for Rainy and I at The Friends of St Luke’s charity show. Kittens has magically lost a shoe and the farrier can’t promise to put it back on so she has managed to get herself out of it … my job here is done with her, I have taught her well. Adios😘😆😜 xx

Merry Christmas All. It’s been a busy year and I have caused as much trouble as I can without getting into real trouble. Santa has visited Little Human and Mr Perfect has a very smart new browband. As it’s Christmas there’s a children’s hunt on the cards which will also mean a bath but I think I can just about cope with that if it gets me out and about to see my fans.

So Soft Touch, HWMBO, Little Human and myself would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year. We look forward to seeing what 2024 brings for us all (hopefully less talk of diets for me!)

So, time for some house updates this evening, after we moved in last year, we took a bit of a breather!!!! Take that for we had bottomed out! But Christmas is on its ways so obviously it’s the perfect time for a bit of a push! So this is my first of two posts another coming at the end of the week to show off the room I have always been very excited about … The Bootroom. If you’ve ever lived with horses and dogs and never had a bootroom you will understand my excitement. But firstly (because that’s not quiet finished!) I have to show you my new Splashback. The Aga, (of which there was my arguing about when it was put in.. and HWMBO still has eye rolls about it!) is a huge success, it is completely the heart of the room, and many a pleasurably afternoon and evening has been spent entertaining at her side. From warming school clothes of a morning to the most amazing roasties of an evening I can only say I am in love and that is why she deserves a special splashback and that i think we have achieved thanks , .spottyhorse and georginaprestonphoto. I don’t think I need to say much it speaks for itself. The last picture is of her in action cooking a roast this weekend. More to come later in the week.
