Hi everyone. It is with a very heavy heart that I am posting this. With a lot of tears and heartbreak I have come to the decision to close my doors for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately I have a very serious injury, one that is going to take atleast 3 surgeries to try and repair, and with this I just can’t predict when I will be able to return or if I will be able. I want to thank Pet Paradise and each and every one from the bottom of my heart of you for your support from day one of me opening my doors. I have really come to love all your fur babies as my own and am devastated at not being able to pamper them anymore. You have all been the reason that my business has thrived and even through the lockdown you were all so good and supportive, and again thank you for that. I am hoping that maybe after my first surgery I can get a clearer view of recovery. And I hope that this isn’t the end for good. Please feel free to message me to get a few other groomers numbers to try and get your dog sorted, and I apologise for any inconvenience I know it’s been a tough few months for us all. I am looking to hire a groomer to cover me for while I’m off injured and recovering. To start Monday 8th June. It will be full time whilst the backlog and waiting lists are cleared and will see after that. Hi everyone, unfortunately I have some bad news. I was in a horse riding accident yesterday and am still waiting to find out the extent of damage I have done. This means I more than likely will not be returning to work any time soon, however please don’t panic as I am trying to sort something out for everyone that is booked in and still waiting to be booked in. I will update you all once I have it sorted. I apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and rest assured I will do everything to get you all sorted ❤️ thank you all for your continued support thus far ❤️

I have a long waiting list to get through and can only book one day at a time as I have to wait for confirmation from people before moving on to the next slot so it’s taking a little longer. Hi everyone! I am starting to do up my appointments for when I open up on the 8th June! I am working my way down my waiting list and will be in contact with everyone shortly to book you in. Just a couple of things for everyone who is taking an appointment:

There will be new protocols in place to follow the new guidelines, this will be new to us all so I please ask everyone to follow them strictly in order for everything to run smoothly.

*Please arrive no earlier than 5 mins before you’re appointment time and no later than 5 minutes after your scheduled time, as I might have to refuse you. All my appointments have been booked so that I have a strict 1 to 1 only and also with time to clean and disinfect between each customer.

*Please do not collect your dog any later than 15 minutes after the collection time I give you by text as this will affect my extra scheduled time before the next dog.

*Please if you can’t make your appointment let me know with no less than 24hr notice, as I will not have time to organise another appointment if it’s any later than this. Cancelling last minute will result in a cancellation and rebooking fee.

*With dogs being overdue their groom, there will be matting. Please note that I am not offering any de matting services to heavily matted dogs and will only offer a shave down in the safety and welfare of the dog. We can always start back with the fluffy cut after this.

Almost all ready and set for the big opening day, June 8th! I will be messaging clients to give them their appointment times available closer to the time, and please note that if I feel someone on the list is a welfare case I will be putting them in first. Ok further update to hopefully clear things up a bit, from the breakdown of phases of easing lockdown.. it’s looking like dog groomers are part of phase 2.. so all going well I will be opening again 8th June. Hopefully that will be the end of this and I will try my very best to get everyone that’s on my waiting list booked in for as soon as possible from opening day 🙏❤️

Brushing your dog to prevent matting & discomfort

For the Bichon,poodles and mixes of these and similar I recommend you have a metal comb medium not too fine and flexi slicker brush. These can be got online christiesdirect.com or in your local pet shop 🙂 how to do it:

🔸Part the hair until you see the skin otherwise your just brushing surface and missing underneath where tangles start and brush with slicker from roots in both directions a few times . Then check there are no tangles by combing through all over with comb
🔸Pay particular attention to the joints of the body especially on the legs as because of the constant movement these areas mat quickest.
🔸Also pay attention to areas like in the photo under elbow where mats can stick between leg and body causing discomfort and pinching on walking.
🔸You can go a step further and spray a leave in conditioner to brush through, which can be got also in Christies
direct or similar in local pet shop if open.

🔸Remove small knots as a number small knots will tangle together and become a mat which cannot be combed out & can only be removed by cutting/clipping away. If the knot is small enough, you should be able to tease it apart by gently pulling it. Take care to work parallel to the skin. Don't pull away from it. Instead, use your fingers to gently work the knot away.
If this does not work, try inserting one tooth of a comb near the top end of the knot (distant from the skin) and combing/teasing it outbit by bit. Grip the knot while you do this to reduce tugging on the skin.
🔶Dogs should be throughly brushed at home at least twice a week.🔶

Hi everyone, due to the government announcement today all non essential businesses must close. Unfortunately this includes dog grooming, so the studio will remain closed until we are cleared to open again. I will post some tips over the coming days to help maintain your dogs coat at home in the time of waiting for groomers to open again, and I will be available on message to anyone who needs further advice and tips. It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this and this decision was not made lightly 😞 but the doors are now going to be closed until the 31st March, when we will review the current situation. I myself am a high risk person and really it’s in the best interest for both myself and my clients to close up. I will message any clients that are booked in this week to reschedule appointments and I apologize for any inconvenience. The main thing is that we all follow the guidelines given to us, and hopefully we can fight this and get back to normal as soon as possible. Stay safe folks 🐶❤️

In light of recent events, I want to inform everyone that I am still going to be open and grooming until I have to close (if lockdown etc). However, due to a personal illness I am in the higher risk category so I would ask that anyone who has recently travelled to or back from affected countries or anyone that is feeling unwell or displaying symptoms, or even been in contact with someone who has, please ring me in advance to reschedule your appointment. I will announce if I will be closing up and will contact clients to reschedule if needed. Thank you and stay safe out there ❤️
