Status: Least Concern

Habitat: Bamboo Forest of China. Introduced 100 years ago in parts of England, Scotland, Wales.

Diet: Berries, grubs, seeds

Threats: Habitat loss, poaching

Fun fact: They fly clumsily in short bursts, and run mainly. Males have beautiful, bright colors inspired by paintings, crockery and stained glass windows to attract females.
