AGRESSION DUE TO TOUCH SENSITIVITY
Some dogs are born with touch sensitivity but in most cases some dogs develop this issue mostly due to WRONG or OVER HANDLING.
Dogs are simple creatures who thrive in effectively communicative environment. We all love our pets and like to display affection via touch. But it is also important to understand the dogs boundaries. When given in limits, it's the dog who craves for your touch. Understand those limits. Let your dog enjoy the touch rather than being pressurized by it. Anything in excess is never the best idea.
Rommy has been with us for 2 months for his board and train programme for this issue and as you can see he now willingly accepts and enjoys the interaction during his home groom. Thank @getfluff.in for recognising this issue and encouraging the owners to work on it ❤️

What do you think is happening here?
This is a simple and conflict free communication. While all Leo (the black indie) wanted to do was call Izzy (the lab) out to play, he got a bit too close Izzy's comfort. Here you can see Izzy growls to establish her boundary with Leo and as you can see Leo accepts the communication and respectfully gets out of Izzy's private space. Hence he is rewarded by a verbal praise from the trainer.

What are we doing?
1. Creating a conditioning in the dog to sniff the object (a box by @licious_foods )
2. Hiding the object in random areas for the dog to find with an added task of working to remove his food from the box.
3. Randomising the objects for the dog to find!
We've started off doing nose work with Mowgli! It's one of our favourite activities to do with dogs since not only does it stimulate them physically and mentally but also it's also a great way to boost your dogs confidence!

CHEWING!
Chewing is an innate behavior in puppies and adult dogs. Dogs chew for a variety of reasons like teething, boredom, anxiety, dental hygiene, etc.
Pepper is a 7 month old beagle puppy. She's been boarding with us for over 2 months now. She is the kind of dog who tends to get over activated and over stimulated after any physical or mental activity. It could be a long walk, a training session or an agility session, Pepper will get over aroused once the activity is over. Even a leaf can excite her.
After experimenting a little we realized chewing is a great calming exercise for her. It helps her to channelize her energy into the object provided by us and hence her over stimulation is contained and it helps her to vent out. The bigger the coconut, the bigger the challenge!

Keeping these facts in mind we got Shadow a saddle bag. Sometimes the saddle bag itself has a calming effect on the dog. It gives Shadow a natural sense of freight pulling, something that he was born to do. When Shadow wears his bag, he knows we’re going on an adventure, but he also knows to be serious. Importance of trials before boarding your dog
Kyubee came over this weekend for an overnight boarding trial after a week's gap from his day trial last week. Kyubee is a lockdown puppy so his interactions with the outside world and with other humans has been limited and hence has a little bit of separation anxiety that needs to be worked on. Anxiety can cause a lack of appetite and that's a good way for the boarders to understand that the dog may be anxious. It's always better to the first trial between the dogs meal times.
With some dogs, we do multiple trials before their long stay so that the dog gets used to the place. Every dog needs time to adjust in a new environment or with a new experience and its important that we give the dog that time and space. Dogs ALWAYS communicate and its our job to listen and understand and find the right way around it.

Watch how Benson the Labrador Retriever aces his long stay amidst distraction. We did this in the presence of two beautiful peacocks and we're so proud Benson was focussed on his handler and dismissed the birds!
Just goes to show how good a tool this command can be to help dogs stay out of a sticky situation by practicing impulse control, build their confidence, trust and is a perfect example of handler- dog bonding via effective training!

Just got done with training Shadow for a go around in figure 8!
Observe how he does a quick round clockwise but struggles counterclockwise? Confusion in a dogs mind during training can occur due to a sudden change or upping of criteria or the humans body language.
Hence we must remember, most of the times it's not your dogs fault and/or he's not being disobedient! If we get stuck, try observe own body language as well and ease up on the criteria a bit. Remember to have fun with your dog in training and celebrating small successes as well.
The result you'll see will be far better than what you've imagined! Just look at Shadow acing his figure 8 just on his first session! All we had to do was correct our positioning and body language!

Teaching dogs how to go around objects and coming back is a great warm up or cooling down exercise for your dog pre or post an intensive exercise. It also doubles up as an exercise that you can do indoors with your dog to provide the necessary stimulation your four legged friend needs!
You can use an agility cone, paper towel roll, a pouffe or in our case a tree for this fun activity.
