This is the last photo taken of Hachikō, a Japanese Akita dog remembered for his unwavering loyalty to his owner.

Hachikō belonged to Professor Eizaburo Ueno who lived in Shibuya and taught at Tokyo Imperial University during the early 1920s.
Every day, Ueno would walk to Shibuya Station with Hachikō and take the train to work...

The breed owes its origins to the old working Black and Tan Terrier with infusions of Maltese and Skye Terrier blood. It is thought that Scottish labourers travelling to work in the mines and cotton mills of Yorkshire brought their terriers with them and these provided the basis of the breed. This ancestry is seen in the colour of the coat – the breed is born black and tan and changes to a steel blue and tan of silky texture with maturity. A dog named Huddersfield Ben born in 1865 is created as the foundation of the breed. The Yorkshire Terrier soon became popular with ladies as a house pet but he still retains some of the features of his terrier background and can account for any domestic rodent. In the early exhibition of the breed, the Yorkshire Terrier was shown on a silk cloth or cushion and now he remains the only breed which is exhibited on a decorative box in the show ring.🐾

Make sure your home is safe before your puppy arrives. This means you should cover or lock away anything dangerous your puppy might chew on, like electrical cords and cleaning supplies. Don't forget to put away items like shoes that won't necessarily hurt your puppy, but you really don't want to be turned into chew toys either. Despite being small, Pomeranians do need regular exercise and thrive on training. They are very intelligent and enjoy learning tricks and performing. Poms generally get along well with other pets, but caution should be used mixing any toy breed with large breeds that might injure a toy dog accidentally. If raised with children they do quite well; if not, they may be reserved. Children need to be reminded that these smaller dogs may not be as sturdy as larger dogs, and interactions should be supervised.
Poms are excellent watchdogs with their alert attitude and their tendency to bark. They make very good companions for elderly folks because of their alertness and their small size.🤎

Pomeranians are very active indoors and are good choices for apartment dwellers and people without a fenced yard. They have a moderate activity level and will enjoy several short daily walks or play times.
They are remarkably hearty and enjoy longer walks, but always keep in mind that they are small and sensitive to heat. They love to play and can get bored easily, so be sure to give them lots of toys and rotate them frequently so there's always something new. They especially enjoy toys that challenge them. 🤎

As they can be wary of others outside their household, socialisation training should be ongoing throughout your dog’s life.Training should start from an early age to help mould your pup’s behaviour and stop their independent streak taking over.A tendency to do their own thing coupled with a strong hunting instinct means that extra attention should be paid to a Chow’s recall and lead training.Chows will not respond well to harsh or forceful training methods.
