Bath time for Amethyst!
Unfortunately, Amethyst’s blood panel came back quite bad. Ehrilchia and Anaplasmosis positive (both tick diseases), and also severely anemic, bordering on needing a blood transfusion. Obviously this sweet baby won’t be traveling tonight, or possibly even tomorrow.
Years ago I could have had Amethyst crossed into the U.S., without a worry, but nowadays, it’s harder to do. Unfortunately people were not doing their due diligence and weren’t having animals tested for disease before bringing them to the States. Obviously, I can see the reasoning behind the stricter laws now, but it sure is hard knowing Amethyst is so close, yet so far away.
