Hello Friends 👋

The ideal "Natural Dog Food Pyramid" is as follows.Do you guys see any Carbohydrates in it? 🤔🤔 The answer is no, because dogs can live without Carbs.

So why we feed carbohydrates to them???
The answer is many pet parents don't know how their ideal Natural food Pyramid looks like.

The conclusion we can draw from this food Pyramid is, Canine diet primarily consists of
1. Meat
2. Veggies & Fruits and no Carbohydrates

මේ දිනවල උෂ්ණත්වය දරාගත නොහැකි අතර තාප පහරකින් (heatstroke) ඔබේ සුරතලා අහිමි විය හැකිය.
1.කරුණාකර ඔබේ සුරතල් සතුන් කෙරෙහි වැඩි අවධානයක් යොමු කරන්න.
2.කරුණාකර ඔවුන් සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම සජලනය වී (hydrated) ඇති බවට වග බලා ගන්න.
3.ඔබට හැකි සෑම විටම ඔබේ සුරතලා නාවන්න.
4.උෂ්ණත්වය ඉතා උණුසුම් වන විට ඔබේ සුරතල් සතුන් ඔවුන්ගේ කූඩුවලින් එලියට දාන්න එපා.
5.ඔවුන්ගේ කූඩුව උණුසුම් නම්, ඔවුන් නිවස තුළ හෝ සිසිල් ස්ථානයක තබා ගන්න.

ඔබේ සුරතලා අහිමි වූ පසු හඬා වැළපීමෙන් පලක් නැත, එබැවින් කරුණාකර මෙවැනි අමිහිරි සිදුවීම් වළක්වා ගැනීමට ඔබට හැකි සෑම පූර්වාරක්ෂාවක්ම අනුගමනය කරන්න.

if you want to be a breeder with knowledge, you will have to study a lot one of which is the diseases your pet can have.

Dear GSD lovers, hope my today's post on GSDs will be useful to you all.

GSD Height vs Working ability 🐕🐕

According to SV breed standards male dogs should stand between 60cm to 65cm female dogs should stand between 55cm to 60cm.
Some excellent dogs were denied KKL(certifies the worthiness of the dog for breeding) due to oversize. This is just my opinion, the range of acceptability should be wider, but breeding tests of working ability should favour the athletic dogs who can work as their ancestors did.

Nowadays we see huge dogs with no real working ability, incorrect anatomy mostly with unstable hindquaters. They can hardly finish one lap of the show ring. They are the dogs you see panting heavily and trying to sit and lie down desperately because the larger the muscles are the more oxygen they consume and this leads to quick exhaustion of the dog in addition to that most of them are lacking in good anatomy. Considering all these factors we need to focus more on the whole animal not just the size when choosing big dogs over standard dogs. Over-size continues to be a problem in the breed but discarding otherwise outstanding working dogs for a small deviation (being a little bigger or smaller than the specified range 60cm to 65cm) is not practical.

GSD is a compromise between Size and Speed which means they are not huge like Great Dane and not fast as a Greyhound but originally bred for working and herding. Globally I think some breeders are deviating from it's original purpose (herding and working) of this breed.

As a GSD community all your opinions, thoughts and knowledge are welcome. We need to discuss and share our knowledge then we can learn a lot.
