Thank you karalisjimg7 for the video. As everyone who has visited us knows, the sticks are never used at the project. They're just a safety measure since we walk on the public roads. #happyelephant #ElephantFreedom #srilanka #elephant

Manika scratching
Elephants love to scratch. It's a great feeling and helps against parasites too. Manika certainly loves it!
This is a video from a couple of weeks ago when Raja had just arrived at our place. Here he is in the enclosure, splashing, keeping cool while we are refilling the tanks. .
the Elephant Freedom project
Do you like to see happy elephants play in the mud for 4 minutes? Then you would surely like to see Sujee and Wasthu enjoy themselves today at the Elephant Freedom Project.
And if you really enjoyed this video please share with the rest of the world?
I found this video on my PC, I recorded it some months ago. Sujee and Wasthu sharing an intimate experience in the enclosure. We built the enclosure with the aim of minimizing the chaining but prefer them to be as much out of the enclosure as possible. That's why we let them roam outside twice a day. However, inside they also have a good time :)
Early this morning. Sujee and Wasthu were very playful, running around and playing with the tires and the wood. Shortly after this we took them on a nice long morning walk.
Today in the enclosure. Wasthu was very playful, the tire, the hose, he loved it all! :) It seems the monsoon is finally over. It was crazy this year with a lot of damage in the country. Now it's sunny again, happy times!
A very short video of Wasthu and Sujee in the enclosure. Watch the ears flap. Ears are great for cooling the body but they are also a great sign of happiness. And when they go flapping like on the video you know you are looking at some very happy elephants :) (sorry for the shaky vid, i didn't bring my camera).
Muddy elephants
In the paddy fields during the daily walk. Watch the video, it will make you happy! What's nicer than seeing our happy elephants playing in the mud? Visit us: www.elephantfreedomproject.com
