Marokko staat op het punt om te gaan en deze keer lanceren we zelfs een junior editie! 🩵
Maar wat houdt dit precies in?
Tijdens deze editie bieden we fotografie workshops aan in combinatie met avontuurlijke paardrijtochten voor jou en je kind. Ranch Aftass verzorgt adembenemende tochten met o.a. een picknick waar jullie kunnen genieten van de prachtige natuur. Bovendien leren jullie o.a. foto’s maken met de instax mini camera’s van Fujifilm.
Er zijn ook vrije momenten ingepland om te fotograferen en samen het prachtige Essaouira verder te ontdekken, of andere activiteiten te doen (op aanvraag).
Ons doel? Verbinding creëren tussen kind (10+) en ouder en hen huiswaarts laten keren met prachtige herinneringen in de vorm van instant mini foto’s van Fujifilm Belgium.
Aanbod is van maandag 29/7 t.e.m. vrijdag 2/8. Er is nog slechts plaats voor 3 duo’s. Wees er dus snel bij!
Vorige week kregen we bezoek van Yvonne en haar gezin en maakten we 2 leuke tochten met haar en 2 avontuurlijke dochters!

We maakten een rit in de ochtend en eentje in de late middag, een laatste échte vakantie activiteit in wederom een prachtige reis. Met Ranch Aftass in een schitterende omgeving, met lieve, goed verzorgde paarden. Als je dit leest, zijn wij net weer geland in Brussel en onderweg naar huis. Bedankt weer voor het meereizen.. de blogs volgen spoedig.

Next week on Saturday 11th of November we co-host the Lantern Festival initiated by Soul Spaces Design Studio.
Kids will be able to craft their own lantern at our ranch and we will then walk all together with our lanterns towards the sunset and a bonfire. There will be songs, a surprise, soup and treats for the kids.
Lantern workshop: 15.30 - 17.30 @ Ranch Aftass - price 150dh
Lantern March: 18.00 - 19.30 start at Diabat - price 100dh (free for kids who participated in the lantern workshop)

Nous aimons transmettre notre amour des chevaux aux plus petits. Les familles avec des enfants à partir de 2,5 ans sont les bienvenues pour explorer les dunes et la plage à cheval.
Et mêmes nos propres enfants adorent une sortie à la plage avec les cheveaux!

It's been a while and a lot has happened due to the covid craziness. We've been living more in Belgium the last years because we got stuck several times due to closing borders. We used our time well to construct new boxes for our horses and make a lovely family and are now preparing (all 4 of us) to come back to Morroco soon.
In the meantime we have been working with our great local guides to accompany our guests on amazing trips.
We are looking forward to be back soon!

Ranch Aftass proposes different walks on horses in the region of Essaouira. From a one hour walk on the beach to several days of trekking in the region. As a small ‘family run’ ranch we cater to your specific requests. We love to host smaller groups with a personal touch to preserve the quality of real human interaction and assure a nice contact between you and our horses. Each horse has its personality - just as humans do - and we love to make a good match between a rider and his four legged companion.
Respect for the animals and nature is always central in what we do.
Ranch Aftass is based at the edge of the berber village Diabat just next to the Ksab river. It’s a typical berber farm constructed mainly of recuperated materials. The farm is owned by Ahmad Saltani and has been in his family for many years.
Diabat is the village just next to Essaouira, also known for the passage of Jimi Hendrix in 1969 and a strong concentration of hippies in the 60-ties.
Ranch Aftass is run by Ahmad Saltani and his Belgian girlfriend Maaike Wuyts.
Ahmad has been organising guided walks on horseback for over ten years. He has hosted people from all over the world. People that never had been on a horse before or experienced riders. He always finds the good connection between a rider and one of his horses. He originates from a family of fishermen and farmers that are based in Diabat since the foundation of Essaouira in the 18th century. He knows the region by heart as well as many stories and anecdotes and loves to share his passion for horses and Moroccan culture.
In 2018 Maaike came as a music professional to discover the rich tradition of Gnaoua Music during the annual music festival in june. She fell in love with this magical place filled with rich cultural history and combined with the beautiful nature, the ocean and last but not least the amazing barb-arab horses. After some travels back and forth to do several horse trekkings in the region, she finally bought her own horse and decided to settle in Diabat for a little bit. While looking for a good stable for ‘Henry’, she came across Ranch Aftass. Ahmad and Maaike met... and this was the start of a shared dream.
Today we love to share our passion about horses and the beauty of amazigh life and the region of Essaouira with people passing by or living in the area. We love to take the time to accompany you and make you feel safe and welcome in our ranch, with our horses and in Essaouira in general.
