Adults 4-6 cups. 2.6 cups dry + 1.5 cups raw, or 4 cups dry + 2 cups raw if feeding 6 cups. I prefer raw beef, but it must be fresh, refrigerated, and chopped.
• Add 1 tablespoon oil - any oil is good - to each feeding
• Add 2 tablespoons yogurt to each feeding
• Once per month, use a good-quality powdered probiotic. Always follow the directions on the label for probiotics.
• For puppies: Feed 2 times per day. One in the early morning. One in the evening. After 8 months, feed once per day.
• Adults: 12 months and older, once per day in the morning

Puppies 6 weeks to 12 weeks:
• Play within the group on grass, soil, etc.
• Walking each pup individually on a leash on various surfaces for 10 minutes each day
• Beware of too much time in a crate. It leads to soft pasterns and loose joints.
Puppies 12 weeks to 12 months
• Walking on a leash on varying surfaces uphill and downhill - every other day – for 15 -20 minutes.
• Preliminary hip and elbow x-rays at 7 months. If negative results, significantly reduce exercise and adjust accordingly. Eliminate it from breeding.
Puppies 12 months and older
• Walking on a leash on varying surfaces – uphill and downhill - every other day - for 15 -20 minutes.
• Begin treadmill conditioning. Walking on the treadmill 10 minutes twice per week.
• At 14 months, with good hips and elbows, increase the treadmill's incline to 20-30° and extend walking to 15 minutes.
• Swimming
Prefer breeding partners with athlete muscular builds that can run, jump, and play without getting winded or tired. Also prefer Rottweilers with strong, aggressive appetites that never require coaxing and eat with sparks flying off their bowls.
