This is a bitter sweet journey for our beloved cremello mare known to all kids as Ice Cream 🍦 Some of us still wear the scars from a little over two years ago. Her journey to recovery ❤️‍🩹 has been a long financial and emotional one ☝️ but we do this as they are apart of our family. I loved to say we won 🙌 we still have you earth bound for a lot more years to come.

Almost 3 years ago she had a boot off in the heard with another and come worse off. Having found her with a puncher wound to one hock and the other scared, both swollen I thought the worst. Vet was called, buted, bandage both hocks to support her to get up to stables and hosed off the swelling/heat. X-rayed found both hocks with fractures 🫣 and vet advised the worst option. She had a willingness to be here & taking over 12 months to heal. Attending to her twice daily cares and reduced her movements, Ms Hillbilly Ice Breaker aka Ice Cream 🍦 made an appearance at the NZ Golden Horse Society Championship show to be sashed Champion Adult Double Dilute 2024 🩷🦄

Every show she has attended she has been sashed the wide ribbon. This would be her last show in her inhand career so back to the broodmare paddock. A beautiful mare inside and out with astute breeding lines. She takes everything in her stride 💘 her progeny have placed their best hoof forward in her wining direction, taking home multi supreme titles.

I’m so proud of there achievements - goals - we need them 🥰 putting one foot/hoof in front of the other 🦄 thank you for the banter and laughs throughout the show blister 🙏

It’s been awhile, in fact pre-Covid 🫣 times since we competed in led classes. Pictured is KL Smokey Jean who we took out as a youngester a few years ago making her debut as a mare 🩷

We love supporting our society’s local show.

Thank you to the Nz Golden Horse Society Inc for a well run show. To the judges that braved the weather 🌦️ we thank you 🙏 ( what a change from yesterday’s weather) and to all the competitors, you guys are troopers. The sky opened up but that didn’t hold us all back. What a great day & what a turnout of horses and ponies 🥰
