Let me tell you more about myself....I have had the pleasure of growing up in rural South Wales (UK) with sheep, chickens and ducks and a pony. I have been around horses since I could walk and have been ever since. Although I am comfortable looking after animals of most shapes and sizes. As a keen horse rider with over 20 years of experience and having run 3 day Event yards and livery yards I have

a wealth of knowledge and understanding with which to be pleased to offer. I am also available to give lessons or assist and work with you and your horse on a one to one basis, or even work them while you are away. Please feel free to message me and I can discuss your requirements with you. Although I am based in Christchurch I frequently travel up to Whangarei in which I would happy to be able to organise lessons during my time up there. Primarily studying the Equine part of this technique and treatment. The Equine side being my main focus - however, I will be looking at treating not just the horses but also their riders or handlers or humans in general whether they are associated with horses or not. I got a couple of the sheep/goat mats and run the 2 together or separately in front of troughs for our team...

Please excuse the feet this was before our S L Hoof Trimming trimmer was due and the ground is rock hard.
So these helped with the trimming and also provided them somewhere to stand if they chose too. These ones where we are holding them was for them to understand what they were and prove they werent scarey!

Attention Hawkes Bay and surrounding areas!

I am getting a team of ConTact C.A.R.E practitioners together to help support the flood affected animals and humans in any of the flood affected areas.
This will be voluntary work, and we are preparing to assist anyone who has been adversely affected by the weather event.

ConTact C.A.R.E student Seaz Phillips has been doing an amazing job these past weeks post cyclone, and we are looking to add and assist her in helping in any way possible.

HAWKES BAY FLOODING APPEAL - AUCKLAND COLLECTION

The devastating floods in Hawkes Bay have left many people and animals in need.

We have just sent over $6000 worth of Veterinary Care (VETMAX) Products on there way, and we're asking for your support to get more essentials down there.

As a wholesaler to many equestrian stores throughout New Zealand, we have a wide range of essential supplies available to distribute ASAP.

From vet supplies to horse covers, dog leads and collars, and more - we have what's needed to make a difference to those in need.

Our team is working with Steph Marshall to coordinate the collection and distribution of critical items. We’ve been in touch with a number of courier companies and are able to transport a truckload of supplies to Hawkes Bay as soon as possible.

The items we're collecting include horse feed, vet supplies, covers, halters, cat and dog food, and blankets. We're aiming to send a load down early next week.

To make a donation, we're offering pickups throughout the Auckland region. Steph and Kelsea are happy to meet with anyone over the weekend who wants to donate goods.

Please join us in supporting the Hawkes Bay community during this challenging time.

Happy New Year all!
2022 has been a rollercoaster of a ride and not likely to stop heading into 2023!
I'll be seriously lunging this year for a good 30-40 minutes before leaping on! 😉🙃
Got some big plans that will hopefully come to fruition this year so all fingers crossed for those 🤞
One of my resolutions will definitely to be more active here as although it doesn't seem like I was very busy, rest assured I was. So stay tuned for updates.

Rainbows and blue skies before winter really sets in!

It has been a while, but here is the troublesome colt Kahu and his long suffering mumma Irish. His neck is fully healed and fingers crossed hasnt scarred as its on the darker markings so not looking odd with with white scar tissue/hair.

A sunny Monday afternoon (21-5-2018)

So after bringing Irish in to the foaling box to get used to the routine and to keep her out of the flies, the lovely vet lady Claire had a wee look and thought she was at least one week off........if not two!! :( :/ So out her and Grams went back to their paddock for at least another week........ This was from feeding them this afternoon (Monday 21st)

Before ConTact CARE treatment

Before ConTact CARE Horse & Rider treatment. The focus for the rider given that this is a young horse (he is slowly being brought on to suit his learning pace) is to have him moving forward off her leg, not to look 'flashy'. This also was an observation and information gathering exercise prior to treatments.

After ConTact CARE treatments

After treatments to both horse and rider (rider while mounted). The rider feedback - a noted improvement in striking correct canter lead on right rein, no hesitation in this as often he will strike off on the left lead, felt a lot freer moving. 22-11-17

Well this was my barrel race at the rodeo in the Locals category. Had 2 barrels down but enjoyed every second of the 22 second run!! Once again a massive shout out and thanks to Shazz Nicholl for letting me use her amazing horse Rupert who looked after me so well. Think I might be slowly converting... :)

So this was my first ever try of barrel racing yesterday......ready for the rodeo on Saturday.... Massive thanks to Shazz for her lesson and to her gorgeous Rupert for looking after me!!!!!
