TEAM DUNSTAN | Matt & Nakeysha Dickey

Nakeysha & Matt who run Dickey Stables, a boutique Show Jumping yard in Taranaki, have been long supporters of Dunstan Horsefeeds. Nakeysha began her equine journey at the age of five, inspired by her mother’s love for horses. Matt's early story is of a similar one, growing up with a family immersed in the Equestrian scene.

Nakeysha is looking forward to the season starting to progress her scopey and athletic horse, Flamenco. While Matt is excited to get out and about on his "big unit" Fernando CSNZ.

🥦 Team Dickeys Top Feeding Tip:
Feeding horses small but often meals as this aligns with their natural grazing behaviour and supports optimal digestion and nutrient absorption.

And remember to check in with your horse diet nutritionist at least once a year, or if you notice behavioural changes in your horse. You only get out what you put in! "Dunstan has Gretel Webber who is very knowledgable and always eager to help!"

A season favourite, the Takapoto Classic. The horses all jumped super and had some good results.

Cornet Indiana (Indy)
Indy continues to impress and is tackling the bigger jumps with ease. She finished 5th in the 7YO Qualifier, 2nd in the Corporate Teams event, and jumped super in the 7YO Final but had an unlucky rail at the last fence.

Fernando CSNZ (Nando)
Didn’t pick up any ribbons but jumped super in the Silver Tour Qualifier 1 for one down. Nando is still green at this level, so it was a great experience for him.

Flamenco (Mango)
Mango jumped a lovely clear in his warmup class. Unfortunately, he did not qualify for the Silver Tour Final, but the improvement from qualifier 1 to qualifier 2 was significant and he continues to improve with more mileage. He then finished the week off with a lovely clear in the 1.20m on Saturday for 2nd.

Balboa NZPH (Rocky)
It was super exciting having our little superstar back on the truck. Rocky was very excited to be back out competing and jumped sensationally in all his classes. A rider error down the final line in the Silver Tour Final resulted in the last fence coming down, placing them 6th.

Thank you to the Plaw family, Kerry Willetts and Takapoto Estate Show Jumping for putting on and running an outstanding show. We are looking forward to next year already!

🌸Rotorua Spring Show🌸

It was great to be back out competing at Taupo. Thank you to the show organisers for running an awesome show and the show sponsors for your support towards the sport.

Our team all jumped super, with Waitangi Imak being the star of the show, taking the win in the 1.30m and second in the Pro Am. Balboa NZPH also picked up 6th in the Grand Prix.

We are excited to be heading to Hawkes Bay on Wednesday for our next show.

We’re very excited about our 4yo mare “Punky” who is by this sensational stallion Rolensky MVNZ, out of our lovely broodmare Cherry (Indoctro x Omnicorp).

Resolution (Rusty)

- 15-year-old by Casall, out of Blushing Bride
- 16.3hh, bay gelding

Rusty has been a huge part of Nakeysha’s riding career. He has an incredible track record, including many Grand Prix wins and placings, as well as multiple top 3 placings in title classes at the Horse of the Year Show (including Young Rider of the Year, Premier Stakes, Norwood Gold Cup and Lady Rider of the Year), as well as 8th in the Olympic Cup, and placings in the Gold Tour Qualifiers and Finals at Takapoto. His results list is endless! Every time he enters the ring, he puts his heart and soul into trying to produce a clear round and please his rider.

Rusty is extremely special to Nakeysha and her family, so please genuine enquiries only.

We will be looking for a beautiful home for him where he can teach his new rider as much as he has taught Nakeysha and give them the confidence to progress through the grades. We will be looking for the very best home for him!

Mak is an absolute superstar and has been Mat's top horse for the last three seasons.

He is so competitive at 1.30m-1.40m level, and he placed at almost every show Mat competed in last season.

Mak had his first Grand Prix placing last season (4th in the Wairarapa Grand Prix), and has a long list of wins and placings up to 1.40m level. He would be very well suited to a competitive Junior or Young Rider wanting to excel in these series.

He is a dream to manage and handle, loves hacking out , and schools very well. He loves his job and is always an enthusiastic and fun horse to ride.

We had some great other placings within the team at the Waikato Show, Egmont A&P, Taupo Christmas Classic, and National Young Horse Show. We are lucky to have such a nice group of horses on our team, right through from youngsters to experienced.

Thank you to the crew behind running these fantastic shows! And to everyone who has helped us at the shows.

Huge thank you Dunstan Horsefeeds for all their support. We find Sport Horse and Athlete the perfect feeds for keeping our horses energy levels up.

On the road home from a successful six days on the road!

The whole team jumped super at Hawkes Bay A&P and at Masterton.

Highlights from the two shows include:
• Balboa NZPH taking the win in the 1.35m Mini Prix at Hawkes Bay and 2nd in the GP at Masterton
• Waitangi Imak placing 4th in the GP at Masterton
• Resolution placing 5th in the GP at Masterton.
• Fernando CSNZ picking up 2nd place in the 1.25m championship at Hawkes Bay and stepping up the heights nicely
• Mat’s two 6 year olds stepping up to their first age group classes

**Job Opportunity** 🐴

We are looking for a local Taranaki person to help us with our horses in the mornings at our Stables in Oakura, starting mid-June.

The work will include putting horses out in paddocks, mucking out / preparing stables, lunging horses, and general horse care / feeding / grooming.

The role will be 3 or 4 hours every morning through the week, and potentially include some weekend work, if interested. We are looking for someone who is experienced in handling horses.

The horses all jumped super at Pukekohe, we are so lucky to have such an awesome team of horses.

Balboa NZPH and Resolution jumped super all weekend, producing double clear rounds in the 1.30 - 1.35m on Saturday and the Horse Grand Prix on Sunday to bring home 2nd and 3rd.

The two Cartell brothers (Fernando CSNZ and Flamenco) are coming along nicely and both jumped super in the 1.15m on Sunday.

Waitangi Imak jumped great both days and picked up 2nd place in the Horse Super Series 1.30m.

Thank you to the show committee for putting on such a great show, the show sponsors for your support, Diana Clim Lammers and Natalia Lammers for all your help over the weekend.
