Shiitakes growing out of a 4-5 year old log, with a younger log sitting on top. You can see the white mycelium growth under the wax on the top log.

🥗 DIY Spouts. Super easy to do, ready in a week. 🥗

Simply:

-Put 2 table spoons of seed mix in a Agee jar.
-Fill with cold water.
-Soak seeds for an hour and pour out the water.
-Flush the jar with cold water morning and night, making sure to allow all the water to drain.
-Keep the jar out or direct sunlight. Doesn't have to be in the dark.
-Ready to eat in a week!

For the top I use stainless mesh, a large $6 Briscoes strainer will make you 3 costing $2/piece.

Native Lions Mane Liquid Culture

Been working on Native Lionz Mane (Hericium Novae-Zelandiae) liquid culture. Making some good progress towards the goal of clear responsive liquid culture that quickly colonizes grain spawn. Mycelium will get much thicker as it continues to grow. Day 6 of growth in this video.

Growing mushrooms or baking cakes 🧐 Sawdust pellet, organic bran, organic spawn, gypsum and water substrate mix, this will expand to 3/4 fill the mixer over about 20mins! From there it will incubate for 20 days and then into the fruiting room for spring harvests! 🍄🍄

Baby mushrooms (Pins) powering out of each hole! The mycelium (roots of the mushroom) detects the fresh oxygenated air and humidity, pushing all of the mushrooms out of the holes. These will double in size every 24hours!
