Today we said goodbye to Muldoon “Admit Nothing” aka Doonbug, Doonie, Doon, Mouldy. He made it to the grand old age of 12years 10months. A few weeks ago he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma when a lump came up on his front leg and he limped when walking, it’s an awful cancer that I thought we had been lucky to have missed out on but alas was not meant to be. We had 9 years with him and it was still not long enough. I am so heartbroken and missing my best friend he leaves behind a massive hole in our lives. He was my event dog and came everywhere with me promoting Greyhounds As Pets NZ and greyhounds in general. He did everything I ever asked of him with such grace, I was always so proud of him and to introduce him as my dog. I know he touched many peoples lives and I truely thank you for all the love, pats and cuddles you showed him over the years. I’d love for you to share some memories you have of the big fella.

Loving having homestay Tammy stay with us. Tammy is an older Jack Russell but loves to be with you and is like my little shadow everywhere I go. Especially if it’s to the kitchen hehe.

Can you help Zayne find his forever home?

Canterbury dog lovers… we need your help!

Can you help us find Zayne a home? This handsome 1-year-old dog has been patiently waiting at our Christchurch Centre for his forever family since July last year, and our hearts break for him every time he has to watch yet another dog that came in after him go home before him 💔

Handsome Zayne is a very good – and very active – boy. He is still learning about jumping as he just gets so excited, so a household with older or no children would be best for this bouncy boy. He gets along really well with some other dogs, so could go to a house with an existing dog if they get on, but doesn’t like other types of animals. He’s a super smart boy with a whole lot of love to give… we just need to find the person for him to give it all to!

Anyone have some spare or unused toys they would like to donate to the SPCA?

CAN YOU HELP?!

We have a huge shortage on food enrichment toys for all the dogs in our Centre, and are desperate to replenish supplies! They add so much fun and mental stimulation to the dogs in our care.

Do you have any kongs or food puzzles to spare? Maybe you'd be willing to buy a few to donate for SPCA dogs? All donations can be made at our Centre located at 14 Wilmers Road in Hornby, and will be appreciated hugely! 🙏
