❄️⛄️ Who doesn't love a winter wonderland? Luka sure does! 🐕✨ Who else got some snow?

Not sure if I'll be teaching from home tomorrow—I'll check the weather in the morning 🌨️ and touch base with everyone who has lessons scheduled. 🐎

For now, the ponies are all snug in their covers with full tummies, enjoying a well-deserved day off. 💤🐴🥕

🦄I have a client on the lookout for a safe first hack. Flick me a PM if you have anything that fits the following criteria:

• Age: 10-16 years

• Height: 15hh-16hh

• Gelding or ‘non mareish’ mare

• Good temperament

• Excellent ground manners

• All-rounder with good flatwork and competition experience

• Comfortable showjumping 1.1m and minimum 80cm x-country

• Forward fine but with good brakes, responsive, not hot

• Honest, safe, sane

• No dirt

• Hacks well alone and with others

• Good to float (straight loader), worm, shoe, teeth, etc.

• Good doer

• No previous medical issues or injuries, no history of lameness

• budget: 🍎 🍎 🍎 🍎

• Crossbreds prefered, No TBs or SBs

Last week marked a special reunion with my first horse, Barty, after 13 years. There have been many influential horses in my life, but Barty was the one that started me on this path. Looking back, I don't know if I would ever recommend skipping getting a pony and going straight for a 16.3hh Irish hunter as a first horse, but Barty was special. He defied expectations, proving to be the safest and most incredible friend I could ask for. Selling him to go to Uni was incredibly difficult, but I knew it was the best thing for him as he had so much more to give. Seeing him now at 33 years old, happy and thriving in retirement, is incredible. Thank you, Barty, for being the best boy and an irreplaceable part of my journey. 🐴

1st 📸 all his current and old owners in one place at once, he's probably one of the last Laughtens Legend horses alive too. Swipe for some photos of me in my teenage years with Barty. I know a lot of my clients worry about their lower leg jumping, to which I reply mine was way worse at your age; look for yourself we all start somewhere! 🐴🌟

🌟 Had the pleasure of clipping this handsome boy today! 😍

I'm now teaching full-time again and almost back to 100% just need to regain my riding endurance.

So, after 4 years of dodging it, COVID finally caught up with me. 😷 After spending the latter part of last week confined inside, I'm on the mend and made it back on a horse today, even if it was just for a little while 🐴 Just wanted to say a massive thank you to all my clients and Greg who have pitched in to help me while I've been out! 🙌 I'm hoping I will be able to be back teaching like normal from Thursday, but I will be in touch with anyone booked in if that's not looking possible. 🌊🐎 Had an amazing beach lesson this week with the girls. Nothing quite beats a blat down the beach!😄

What a ride to remember at St. James Station and around Hanmer this weekend! 🐴

Approximately 52km covered over the 2 days, with approximately 11 hours in the saddle. The horses were stars, tackling all the terrain well barefoot and handling every obstacle thrown their way.

A massive thank you to everyone who made this unforgettable journey possible! 🙌

Since I helped my clients find their horse, Dinky, last winter, it's been quite a journey. 🐴💖 Watching them grow as a team this year has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Excited to see what's next on their horizon. 🌟

Nice to see some sun between showers today.

The property is pretty wet but is already starting to dry up so should be on track for lessons from Wednesday onwards.

I think all the horses have been enjoying having some extra food to keep them warm.

Hope everyone else's properties and horses are doing well after a rather wet weekend!

School holiday programme Trek

Another great day today in the holiday programme. Both Emmie(pinto) and Toby (grey) are looking for their new person Both absolutely love to trek. Basic details on Toby: 14 year old, 16.1hh , Stationbred x Arab gelding. He has done Cavalcading and is great to take out and about trekking.
