!! ATTENTION - LEPTO !!

We have been seeing cases of Leptospirosis in dogs recently, with the current warm weather and preceding months of wet weather and flooding favouring bacterial survival and environmental contamination. Leptospirosis is a serious and often fatal bacterial infection that affects many species including people, although it is extremely rarely seen in cats. Acute kidney failure usually occurs first and this is followed by acute liver failure.
Leptospirosis is a zoonosis, meaning it can spread from animals to humans. Dogs most commonly contract leptospirosis via infected rat urine so direct contact with a rat is not needed. However it can also occur via bites, contaminated water, food or bedding. Dogs that live in urban areas have the same risk of infection as those that live rurally.

Vaccination against leptospirosis is highly recommended, starting when puppies are 8-9 weeks old. Two vaccinations are needed 3-4 weeks apart and boosters are done annually. If you haven’t had your dog vaccinated for leptospirosis or they have lapsed, book them in with us to avoid this devastating disease

🐕Thursday Shenanigans🐕 Look how much fun our Scallywags have had today 🥰

A few of our small kids having a blast today!! We have a size rule to ensure our small friends feel safe and comfortable in their play group not to mention they have a massive toy box full of great toys to play with each day and share with their friends! For our older or pottering type smalls we have a mixture of beds to make nap times extra cosy and to be able to rest away from the more playful and younger smalls without getting bumped into!

🥰 Happy Pooches🥰 Christmas has come early for these Scallywags! Everyone was excited to get a new mixture of toys and chews to choose from, The big guys are loving being able to play tug with the rope toys and now we have a variety to suit everyone 🥰

If you wish to take advantage of the below prices before the 1st January 2022, please let us know that you wish to pay by Eftpos or cash. Daycare Full day $24.00 Daycare Half day $19.50 Groom & Play $19.50 + Groom Two or More Dogs $22.50 per dog For clients that have regular days booked see below prices. If you wish to have regular days booked, please let one of the staff know and we will sort this for you. Daycare Full Day $23.00 Daycare Half Day $18.50 Groom and Play $18.50 + Groom Two or More Dogs $21.50 per dog Also from January 2022 we will be allowing dogs to come to us 5 days per week, please let us know if you would be interested in increasing the days your dog comes to Scallywags next year. From 7am-6pm Monday- Friday our dedicated team of 5 ladies are here to care for pup - no matter how big or small! Our dogs are separated in to small, medium and large sized dog groups and are ensured a well-balanced day of rest, ply and training! Our trainers are in the pen with the dogs at all times, and our set ratios if dogs-people ensure that your dog is never overwhelmed, or practicing undesirable behaviours, and is always having fun! We also offer training for all ages and stages of life - from Puppy Classes, through to helping with reactive dogs, separation anxiety and getting through the teenage dog phase!
