PSA: Yes, choosy kami.

We keep getting PMs and comments complaining about our asking questions from potential adopters and fosters. Some even say "we're just trying to help" or accuse us of being "mapili".

Yes, we acknowledge that a lot of people genuinely want to help by taking in our cats. However not every cat is fit for every home. Our community cats, especially the dumped ones, have been through a lot. They need homes where they will receive the attention and care they need. In fact they need so much effort to learn to socialize, get past trauma, and just be happy cats.

Since the cats cannot screen the adopters themselves, we take the responsibility to match them with fosters and homes that will be able to meet their needs. Everyone, even our admins who have adopted cats, goes through some screening process.

If you are not willing to undergo our screening process, we understand. You are free to adopt from elsewhere.
