One of our "weaning/winning" moments ๐ is when we successfully wean our puppies. Weaning refers to the process of gradually transitioning young animals from their mother's milk to solid food.
Here at ๐ King Pooch, we start as early as 3 weeks old. First, we introduce formula milk into the puppies' diet via a bottle feeder, gradually transitioning day by day to a bowl. Our choice of milk is Puppy Love, with a scoop of MyPets Philippines Mondex Dextrose Powder for an additional energy boost. ๐ผ
Next, we slowly introduce a "starter" dog food. Our preferred starter dog food is Royal Canin Starter Mousse, which we use until the pups turn 1 month old. ๐พ
After 1 month, we introduce "puppy" formulated dog food. In this video, we are using Nutri Chunks Puppy Dog Food. Initially, we crushed and mixed it with dog-formulated milk. Now, we simply add hot water and leave it for a minute, as Nutri Chunks Puppy is small bites that soften easily and seem palatable for our pups.
