Finally, after almost a year of trying and 2 or 3 pregnancies, Farrah had been captured. She has the most feral attitude of all the community cats. She will be spayed and her current pregnancy will be terminated.

Trigger warning: Euthanasia

It is with great sadness to inform everyone that Sendai was put to sleep earlier this afternoon. She suffered from severe liver damage and chronic kidney function, as indicated by the blood chemistry test conducted, specifically, high levels of ALT and TBIL, and low creatinine and high urea levels, respectively. Her overall condition was obviously deteriorationg day by day, and it was almost impossible for her to recover, amidst the medicines and fluids being infused fo her. To end her suffering, we collectively decided to put her to sleep. This was not the outcome we were hoping for. We were really looking forward for her to recover in the past 6 days she was confined. But we thought it would be better this way.

To all those who donated and prayed for her, Sendai would like to thank all of you. Though she was born a stray cat, she knew about human kindness in her short-lived life.

Her total medical bill was 19179pesos. A volunteer initially shelled out 2500pesos. Outstanding bill was 16670. The clinic allowed us to settle 50% and the remaining 50% was due in 2weeks, while further discount was being considered.

Sendai is still very weak but responsive. Yesterday, she still had the ability to stand up. But today, she can no longer get up on her paws. The clinic also said she had a seizure early in the morning. We are looking into the option of seeking another opinion from another clinic but we may be able to do that by Sunday.

Sendai is still not out of the woods. Her condition is still not improving. It’s even getting worse. She is still not eating. Though on IV, Sendai is still dehydrated. She already had 4 CBCs since Monday. WBC is increasing (indicating infection, 2 antibiotics are not helping) and RBC is decreasing (indicating low blood oxygen). She is also having a hard time pooping, too weak to even get on the box.

As of now, we have received Php 5,150.75 on cash assistance for Sendai’s medical expenses. Thank you very much!

Sendai was the 17th cat that was neutered by our group last 17 December 2021. She was even pregnant when she had the operation. She also had visible scars and bald spots on her furcoat, indicating a very tough life. Since being neutered, Sendai became one of the well-known community cats of Building C… and very healthy too. She was often mistaken to be pregnant because of her chubbiness.

Few months ago, we got a report that someone hurt Sendai and we decided to cage her for the time being. She grew fatter when we released her again. But instead of going back to Building C lobby, she remained at the basement parking.

Sendai was also quite shy and not that sociable, making it quite hard for us to feed her. And few weeks ago, Sendai didn’t show up more often during feeding time. And more recently, she didn’t appear for 1 week. When we saw her and put her in the cage, her weight dropped, had poor coat condition, and had a very poor appetite. We decided to take her to the vet.

Sendai had low RBC and high WBC counts, indicating possible anemia/leukemia and bacterial infection, respectively. She’s on IV because of dehydration and already spent 1 day confinement. IV-antibiotics was already given to her. Fortunately, Sendai was negative for all 4-in-1 feline tests and leptospirosis. Sendai had a full-dose of 4-in-1 vaccine.

All medical bills were pilling up. Because of this, we are seeking some donation to help us fund her expenses. We already settled 5000+ for her initial blood tests and medicines, plus first night confinement. Sendai might spent few more nights in the vet.

Since we have Mila Jovovich, this cat will now be known as Jennifer, as in Jennifer Garner. 😊🤣

Jennifer is a relatively new addition (new stray) who found her way to the condo complex. She’s pregnant and it had to be terminated. She’s usually found near Bldg A front garden.

This is Mila. You’ll often find her at the guard post in the basement. Actually, they were the ones taking care of her. When I asked the guard if it’s okay to take her to be spayed, he asked if the procedure would change her behavior. I just told him if she’s already sweet, she would even be sweeter after spaying.

I brought 3 cats to for spaying. I called them, “celebrity series”. Since her name is Mila, her complete name is Mila Jovovich. 🤣😊

Sakê has a minor limp when she walks and that leg condition is quite obvious in these pictures. But other than that, Sakê is completely healthy and very active. Her disability doesn’t bother her at all.

This is Sake. She is Whiskey’s sister and one of Ella’s kittens. Sake is a cat with special needs. Did you notice how she seems to be out of balance when standing and wobble as she walks. We noticed this when she was around 3 months old and, being one of the basement cats among many passing cars, we decided to cage her indefinitely. Someone also brought her to the vet but they could see anything wrong with her. It could be problems with her lower body nerves. With limited resources, we didn’t pursue further tests and just monitored her inside her cage. She was inside her cage since September/October 2022. She was also spayed last November 2022 and vaccinated against rabies

Currently, Sake is a little bit on the chubby side and bigger than her brother, Whiskey, mainly because of her limited movement inside the cage. But Sake’s disability doesn’t stop her from playing with her favorite pal, GG.
