The university's faculty comprises more than 500 teachers. Of those, nearly half hold Ph.D. degrees, mainly from foreign universities. (Hons.), M.Phil, and Ph.D.

The University of Agriculture, Faisalabad originally the Punjab Agricultural College and Research Institute, was established in 1906 as the first major institution of higher agricultural education in the undivided Punjab. The university is organised into faculties of Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Food Engineering, Social sciences, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science and Sc

iences. A community college is also located on the main campus in Faisalabad. The College of Veterinary Sciences at Lahore was affiliated and is now a distinct entity known as the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore (UVAS). These units offer programmes leading to B.Sc. Agricultural Engineering, D.V.M., B.Sc. degrees in agriculture and allied fields. HEC ranks the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad as a best university in the agriculture/veterinary field.

Prof Dr Munir Ahmad, Director, Institute of Business Management Sciences (IBMS), University of Agriculture Faisalabad has died of heart attack on Tuesday. His funeral was held at the Jamia Masjid, UAF on Wednesday. The Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan, and a large number of UAF community offered the funeral prayers. He is laid to rest in his native village No. 408, Shorkot. He has left behind a widow and six children. The university will remain close on Wednesday in the grief of Dr Munir Ahmad’s demise.
Dr. Munir is the author of three books. He has published 72 research papers (including 8 in the countries like USA, Australia and Netherland, etc) in the journals of international repute and 21 popular articles and three booklets for the benefit of stakeholders. Dr Munir has earned his doctorate degree from Australia. He did his Post Doctorate from the Freie University, Germany under fellowship awarded by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC). He has over 22 years experience of teaching and research at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad.
