that at Negri's weigh-in today at the vet, she has reached her targeted weigh loss goal of 20 lbs. She started at 58 lbs & is now 38 lbs.

BREAKING DOWN PURELY POSITIVE TRAINING:
*A series of posts dedicated to countering the PP movements teachings.*

The Purely Positive movement is currently “all the rage” in the Dog training community. Sperry Professional Dog Services and I find this alarming. This technique goes against the natural order and balance of the world, laws that cannot be bent under which we are all subject. And yet the PP movement thinks that they are the ones that can alter the structure of reality with their words. The end result producing a car wreck of confusion, divide and abuse.
We hope to create a backlash against the PP movement by explaining the natural order of the species and how that conflicts with the PP movements teachings. We will also explore their tactics and what their ulterior motives could be in regards to this deception.
This series of posts will not come out consistently. Instead, done when we have extra available time. If you like what you see, sharing these posts will spread the word exponentially and help get us back on the right track.

IN HONOR OF DOG CULTURE & RITUALS
Annaïs is layed out in wake for the dogs to mourn & show their respects. Each of the 20 dogs approaches individually in their own time to say their Goodbyes in their own personal way. For some it is more difficult than others. This usually lasts a whole day. The dogs let me know their respects & mourning have been completed by one of the dogs covering up the body, this time it was done by Reina. This marks the time for burial.
As with humans this ritual is very important to them

It is with great sadness that we announce Annaïs Jolie has succumbed to her battle with cancer after 8 months. She died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones.
Annaïs is my gothic girl. She hated toys & prefered to chew stones & broken glass. She would only eat plants if they were poisonous & never let a new dog introduction go by without a fight. She was unapologetically herself & pushed the boundrys. We love her very much. She kept us on our toes.
She lived 11 years (French Bulldogs live 8 to 10 years) so she lived a full life. It is just that it went so fast, we love her & what she brings to the enviroment so much & when gone, she is gone forever. She was my gothic girl...
We are broken hearted.

Of all doggies look who have become best buddies: Spike & Blue! The reason it is odd is because both of them have the same sponsor (Vieques Animal Sanctuary) but are distinct, seperate rescues months apart. In the end we get to see that Yes, Ivory is still bullying Kaly, as they parade before camera. That behavior is almost extingished but still not there yet...

KING ALFONSO This is how a 20 year old dog lays himself down on a doggie bed. He simply stands in place and slowly lets gravity pull him down.

BLUE IS OVERWHELMED WITH THE FREEDOM...

Enrique Alfonso our King Alfonso has shrunken & become more plyable with age. Twenty in August. He rambles around constantly & is fully functional in all areas. But in old age love sessions have changed in style. He now fits on my lap (use to be much to big to put on my lap) & can't jump up seeking physical touch any more, so I just bring him on up. He greatly enjoys...

In August King Alfonso (Enrique Alfonso) will be celebrating his 20th birthday. Preparations are already under way...

Mac & Xavier have a bromance going on & are best play buddys. Meanwhile Ivory & Spike take their play level to a higher degree, always! The two intertwine in to a larger dance to life.

At 111 years old (19 years) King Alfonso continues to carry out his duties making many rounds of the dominion during the day to ensure that everything is in order.

Enrique Alfonso (Our King Alfonso of The Tiny Kingdom) will turn 20 years old in August. The older he gets the more I Love him.

Maui & I dropped by Jenn Johnsons' to visit their lot of rescued doggies & say Hello. Jenn had Loba on the treadmill! And this girl was doing a great job.

FLASH BACK: MAUIS' first bath upon matriculating with us. Then she was known as the Tasmanian Devil for her fierce attacks & damage inflicted. Because she could not walk at that time in her back body due to the bullet lodged in her spine, she would would try to run away but dragging her back body made her go around in tight circles. She would move so fast in circles that she became just a blur & if she made contact with your body she would chew upon it like a piranna without stopping. So she was very dangerous, hence her name Tasmanian Devil. So for her first bath we had to practicely put her in a straight jacket for her safety but mainly ours. You've come a long way baby...

Daisy is mobile, a jumper & letting us touch/pet her. Progress is being made ever so slowly on this severe case.

UPDATE SPIKE REHABILITATION DEPARTMENT: Spike has settled in to the rules, agenda and the other dogs. His diagnostic has been complete & a Program created to address the problems. He walks 3 miles a day in pack & is developing trust & friendships with the other dogs. He is now feels secure & safe enough to venture into the world of play with them which is a huge step of trust. And with the mastering of the walk & play the foundations of his rehabilitation are established to start building upon with his Individualized Program. Spike is right on track & progressing nicely.
